What's your all time fav tv show? As in, can still watch the episodes over and over without ever getting tired of it? Mine is 1) House and 2) Golden Girls. Strange combo I know.
House marathon on Cloo channel today so I'm a happy camper

(1,214 posts)The only 60s soap opera to have been preserved in its entirety, in fact. I was too young to remember much about it at the time, but now you can stream on Netflix, Amazon, or even buy the whole series - 3.5 years, ~130 DVDs, 1200+ episodes.

(1,957 posts)In the summer I walked over a mile to a friends house to see it in color! Everyone seemed to love someone they couldn't have and the main house was so realistic with its' tower and movable walls.
Rhiannon12866
(205,237 posts)In fact, I thought of it when I first saw your screen name. A couple of months ago, my friend and I spent the whole evening watching the old episodes. She had it from Netflix. It was from the very beginning, and don't remember quite that far back, but I loved Barnabas, Angelique, Maggie, Quentin and the whole cast. We used to rush to get home from school in time to see it...
barnabas63
(1,214 posts)We watch it all the time at my house. Oh, the melodrama! Don't you love it? And the acting is a hoot - even forgotten lines, mic shadows, and other little blunders bring an element that you just don't see. It was practically live tv, because they didn't retape anything because of expense back then. It really is a treasure!
Rhiannon12866
(205,237 posts)She was one strange character, among many, LOL! She was the only one who could help Barnabas, but he couldn't trust her motives...
Several years ago, my friend let me borrow his video collection and I stayed up all night, watching just one more...
As a kid, I could keep track of the the same actors moving across centuries playing different characters, don't know if I could do that now. And, back then, all the gaffes that we notice now seemed perfectly normal, all we cared about was the story. Glad to meet another fan!

Current show, Dexter.
kalli007
(683 posts)but heard great things about it. I LOVED Micheal C. Hall in Six Feet Under, but I think that's part of the reason I have not checked out Dexter yet-- because I see him as David, and no one else!

(683 posts)has been watching it since it originally aired. On a trip through the Blue Ridge Highway back in '08 I toured Mt. Airy and the Andy Griffith Museum. Got to touch and take pics with the signs that were on the Sheriff's Office door in the show, and the gas pump from the gas station. Sent the pics to dad, he loves em!

(24,282 posts)The old Tonight Show with Steve Allen. I was just a kid then, but I never have laughed so hard at a TV show.
left-of-center2012
(34,195 posts)... but I remember the old Tonight Show with Steve Allen.
In the 80's I worked a hotel where actors stayed who were performing at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park, San Diego.
Jayne Meadows was performing there for a few weeks.
After each performance, she and Steve Allen would go out to dinner and return to the hotel around 11:30 PM, when I'd just started my shift.
They'd stop at the desk for any messages, and stay for about 15 minutes just chit chatting about every day things.
The price of bread; kids these days; etc. They were the nicest, most unpretentious "stars" you'd wish to meet.
It was as if I was chatting over the fence with my next door neighbor.
Rhiannon12866
(205,237 posts)I don't go quite that far back, but I certainly remember Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows, both legendary talents. It may sound trite, but I really don't think they make them like that anymore. They sound like wonderful people...

(32,080 posts)Emergency! I loves me some Johnny and Roy. I really liked "Third Watch", too. And, I'm still massively P-Oed that they killed off Bobby. I am liking "Chicago Fire", too. Although, it's kind of hard to get used to seeing "Dr. Chase" as a fireman with a crew cut, and no more Australian accent.
Yes, I have a thing for firemen...

(34,195 posts)How about "Gunsmoke" ? I can still get it on cable.
I wish I could get the old quiz shows, like "I've Got A Secret" or "To Tell the Truth".
Or "The Jack Benny Show".
I think they're on YouTube.
