Florida man beats boyfriend for listening to Alanis Morissette

A Florida man was arrested after admitting he hit his boyfriend in the face with a plate because he wouldn’t stop listening to Alanis Morissette, according to an officer’s account.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed the authenticity of an online report detailing the arrest.

“That’s all the mother f------ listens to,” 24-year-old Allen Blair Casey allegedly told the officer when he was arrested.

A 33-year-old victim had a large cut on the left side of his face when officers arrived at the Jacksonville apartment he shares with his boyfriend just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

The man told police that he was listening to the Ottawa-born musician but that his boyfriend didn’t like it and struck him in the face.

What a nasty jackass.

Just get rid of the cd. Her voice is annoying, and I would imagine that hours of it might be against the Geneva Convention.

Battery is battery, in this story that is what stands out for me. If one has issues that bring one to hit their boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, kid significant other (and etc) then they likely have a very serious issue. Battery is far to common in relationships, both the batterer and the battered need to seek help.

Truth time:
I was perhaps 19, in the Army and very fond of my music. I shared a room in our barracks with six others.
One of the newbies in our room thought Joan Baez was a communist and requested nicely that I not play her music. I was an ass and played it because I thought he was just being stupid....well he was being stupid but I was being stupid too. Things went from bad to worse when he threatend to destroy my Joan Baez tape if I kept playing it....so I of course turned it up. He grabbed a combat boot, pulled the tape out of the tape player and smashed it with that boot. Well I had a combat boot too, it was on my foot and in anger I tried to punt the guy across the room.
Somehow nobody was hurt...too awful much and we actually ended up being friends after he bought me a new Joan Baez tape and I promised him to never play that commie in his presence again.

The moral of that story is that there ain't one. Battery is battery. I was an ass and then I escalated a bad situation into fight that should never have occurred. I have learned since to control myself better, gotten angry plenty of times but that was the very last time I hit anyone first.
