Why do people post personal crap on Facebook...

...and then get offended if you respond to their post? I mean people who post really serious stuff....and then when you try to lighten up the mood, they don't like it. Whatever! I don't post really personal emotional stuff on FB!!!

with relatives who do that.

One uncle who has personal fights with his girlfriend on Facebook.

A niece or two who post stuff like, "My dad is in the hospital" and when you ask what's wrong you either don't get an answer or you get "He's OK. For now"...hours later, or the next day.

I just learned about something called "vaguebooking"...where people post mysterious one line things such as, "Well that sucked". Or...."My heart is aching right now". Or even that someone did something mean to them and "You know who you are!!!" Looking for attention. I refuse to fall for it anymore.

Then there are the ones who post the most unbelievable crap like Facebook is going to start charging people. They've done this one like three times in three years and it hasn't happened yet, so why the hell do they keep posting more of the same shit??? Do they forget that they posted it last year and nothing of the kind happened?

ugh

But it's not as an attempt to get attention, but a way to speak to a number of my friends who will understand my cryptic message whereas others who aren't as close won't.

I live in Texas, so the majority of my Facebook "friends" are Republicans. I absolutely love and enjoy posting pro-Obama, pro-Democratic stuff because there are a few of them who just can't leave it alone. They get all steamed up and flustered. It's my entertainment!

It's not just that they get offended, it's what they are saying in the first place that gets me. For instance, she who-shall-remain-nameless, posts on her wall every day that she has been to her morning workout, as if we all care. She who-shall-remain-nameless posts a picture of her reproductive system prior to a hysterectomy she needed. That's more information than I want to know. And finally, she informs us all that she has purchased a hair removal gizmo to use on her private parts! I am not kidding. Geesh.

...but I mean why would you post something that you really cared about to the point that you don't want anyone to respond to it??

Thanks for letting me vent!

...most Americans are simply lonely.

Some aren't capable of the All-In nature of the social network.

Like "Have you actually caught her cheating on you yet?"

"Congrats on 5 years of sobriety!"

"Have you come out to your parents and co-workers yet?"

ETA:

"You are so brave testifying against Bikers! Good luck!"

"So witness protection put you in Canaburra Arkansas? They'll never find you there."
