What is your favourite tv show right now? I've been watching

"Parks & Recreation". The sweetness in that show really speaks to me.

1. Fringe

Incredible sci-fi storytelling with characters that feel like family members.

25. I've been crying with each episode lately

Been watching the series since the pilot. Lauren Graham was the reason, but I've stayed because of the whole cast!

6. I like the caste but not the types of crimes they deal with

I'll watch the show, then the depravity of their criminals depresses me.

It is so well done that I get sucked into the plots even when I am repelled.

10. Oh we love that show too.

My wife said I am allowed to have a silly crush on Garcia. She's adorable - and perfectly geeky.

5. Leverage, Castle, Major Crimes, The Mentalist, White Collar

I've got a list because it depends on what week it is which is my favorite. As you can see, I like mystery type shows.

I like Leverage - it reminds me of Mission Impossible (the original series, NOT the movies) with a better reason for the capers. "Leverage follows a five-person team: a thief, a grifter, a hacker, and a retrieval specialist, led by former insurance investigator Nathan Ford, who use their skills to fight corporate and governmental injustices inflicted on ordinary citizens." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverage_%28TV_series%29

Castle - because I like Nathan Fillon and crime shows with a little humor.

Major Crimes - because I liked The Closer. The caste is great and the change in focus and substitution of Mary McDonnell for Kyra Sedgewick makes for a whole new attitude.

The Mentalist - I like the cast and the humor in their situation (former con artist helping the police), though the 'Red John' part gets a little old. I love Tim Kang's character with his 'Dragnet' type delivery.

White Collar - similar reasons to The Mentalist, but this show also reminds me of the old Robert Wagner series "It Takes A Thief".

9. ALL those shows are on our DVR every week

along with sitcoms: Parks and Rec, Modern Family, New Girl, Big Bang, How I Met Your Mother and we are auditioning The New Normal - I was worried that it would go for the cheap stereotypical jokes but so far they have been keeping above that as much as I can tell - I have to admit to watching it through hetero-goggles so I might miss something and will be glad to hear from folks with a different POV.

I'm not interested in Hollywood using gay as a derogatory joke but I have no problem with gay people being funny. And if this show can open a few people up to the idea of gay and lesbian couples having kids and adopting kids, I'm all for that.

OH, and Bob's Burgers. I love Bob's Burgers.

15. I should try some of the sitcoms

I got burned out on sitcoms when Seinfeild and Friends were on. Both those shows were just annoying to me. I haven't watched any sitcoms since.

Maybe I should reboot my sense of humor and see if any have improved the genre!

16. I liked Seinfeld and Friends but

yeah, I think the whole product has updated and improved.

I catch Seinfeld re-runs late at night on occasion and they don't seem as funny now as they used to...

If you haven't seen Arrested Development, that alone is worth the price of Netflix.

12. Does HBO Count? (SPOILER)

If so, DEXTER!!!

Supposedly the writers already have the whole plot-line that brings the series to an end next year roughed out, so it makes for some interesting speculation about what's going to happen between Deb and Dex THIS year, now that *SPOILER!* she knows.

18. Right now? Easy. Boardwalk Empire.

It'd be a harder choice if Justified, Breaking Bad, and Walking Dead weren't all on break.

After West Wing ended it felt like a drink of cool water after being in the desert. So good.

23. favorite show

We have Netflix and I have been watching The Office starting with season 1 for the past month. We are 1/2 thru season 8! When it first came on I was a real snob (I had seen the British "The Office" and couldn't imagine how the U.S. show could measure up to the original. Long story short 5 years later I finally gave in. Its hysterical and can be sweet as well. Oh sure it misses some of the time but the vast majority of the episodes keeping me laughing all evening. I'm so glad I finally gave in. Too bad its the last season.
