The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'm watching a guy smoke pot at the window of his hotel room.
Just pulled in the parking lot and turned off my lights. I decided to sit in my car and listen to the end of Rachel Maddow on the radio. Then I see a flash of light and this guy is standing at his window that overlooks the parking lot and he's taking hits off a pipe.
Too funny. If I was mean I'd jump out of my car and scare him or turn him in. But I'm not mean. And hey dude, get a room that doesn't overlook the parking lot next time.

... still smoking and wanted to economize, I might use a one-hitter).

I never learned to hand-roll a joint. I used to use machines or I would hollow out
the tube of a cigarette except the 1/2-in or so closest to the filter and then refill
it with tamped-down pot.
.
"Use" busts were such a low, even non-existent priority that I could walk along
a relatively quiet street smoking quite "openly" with any incriminating evidence
easily (MMPH-GULP) disposed of.
.
Now, with so many people rolling their own for financial reasons, it seems like
it would be even easier.
.
In Germany, we grew pot in our third-floor balcony flowerboxes. Pot was pretty
non-existent there (hash was ubiquitous), so not many would have recognized
the plants.
.
Even so, a friend who came over to deliver some furniture to us couldn't get
out of there fast enough -- he was convinced that our 4-ft plants had the entire
Nurnberg police on its way over at any moment.
.
We started the plants in the enormous rubbertree flowerpots in the Dispensary
in which we worked. Once, an inspecting general came in with the saddest-looking
ass-kissing lieutenant aide so close on his heels his nose was almost literally brown.
Unannounced inspection... and when they stopped to discuss some matters next to
our little pot plants, we were all understandably nervous.
.
Nothing. They were about to leave when we saw the lieutenant FOCUS on the
plants. He looked severely at all of us around the room. He finally broke into this
huge grin and nodded at all of us and walked quietly out the door.
.
He had definitely redeemed himself in our eyes.

(5,909 posts)Wait, the guy's actually smoking, not just tossing a pipe in a grill.

(18,186 posts)And he smokes to calm his nerves.
Scare him or turn him in, what fun fantasies....that would be great all around
Or maybe he has MS, or is getting chemo, or he just likes cannabis rather than a beer after a rough day. It does help the soreness if you're doing physical labor all day. Shocking to learn, no doubt.
I think some people don't get out much.....but maybe I'm the one being mean here...
Peace out

... "IF I was mean I'd..." part of the OP.

You're kinda tense for a stoner.

(18,186 posts)It does seem odd in 2012 that a person has never seen another person imbibe in cannabis, or that it would even be an issue to a Democrat. Like, "Wow. I just saw the sky," you know what I mean?
And I prefer "raising awareness" to "tense."
Also remember: Not all who display the Cannabis Leaf are Stoners

... that will actually help you chill a little.
.

It was the pot leaf AND the harsh response that points to your being a possible or
even probable stoner (though not necessarily someone who has ever smoked pot at
all, eh?)
.
.
.
Someone who crusades with so much unpleasant snark rarely has any effect on "raising
awareness/consciousness".
.
.
But good luck with that.

(18,186 posts)I'm sorry.
This is a discussion board, and I was joining the discussion. Was not aware snark was forbidden ITL!
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood here.

... with your self-description as one who raises awareness.

There's no anger in my posts.
.
How about yours?
.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
.

I DO feel like legalization is imperative and realize that snark is counterproductive to that
end -- but it DOES help the snarkers feel superior.
.
.

Passive-aggressive doesn't go real well with "peace out" and/or "have a great day" either.
It seems as though you had trouble distinguishing between "piss off" and "peace out" (both
P.O. phrases). It strains one's credibility even further, innit?
.
Again, if... IF you ARE a stoner... you're awfully gosh-darn tense. Might be time to lighten
up, Francis... and perhaps stop lightING up. If it's in your repertoire, it's not working very
well.
.
.
.
But... and this seems to be pretty inevitable anyway... I'll let you have the last "clever" word.
