I have always been a BIG fan of mooning. It is simultaneously silly and serious... MiddleFingerMom Sep 2012 #4
I did. We've been friends since the late 70's and it wasn't the first time I'd mooned him. HopeHoops Sep 2012 #5

... and there aren't many better ways of, ahem... voicing your displeasure that don't veer
into the abusive or threatening.

I have a favorite mooning story. Those of you who know me are thinking, "Well, of course
HE has a favorite mooning story."
.
Sadly, this didn't involve me.
.
Prince Charles and Lady Di (see how cool this would've been if it'd involved me?) were on
a tour of Australia and New Zealand. In N.Z., one of the indigenous people mooned their
motorcade as it want by. He was arrested and charged with something serious (but not
too serious). He took it to court -- his defense being thst mooning had long been a form
of expression of political dissent among his people.
.
Here comes my favorite part of my favorite mooning story.
.
Back in WWI, a government official had gone to one of the local villages (a pre-announced
visit) to draft all the eligible young men of the village and take them back to fight in the
war. All the women of the village, from toddlers to elders, met him at the village limits and
mooned him. He was so ashamed that he left without taking any of their young men with
him.

I don't know whether the Charles-and-Di mooning individual won his case or not. I really,
REALLY like to believe that he did.

It was his birthday and I gave him the full moon as he came out of his office. He damn near fell over laughing.
