So, had to be 1982 or 1983.

2000-0-0 party over, oops, out of time
So, tonight I'm gonna to party like it's 1999.

I love it now. It freaked me out back then. I was paranoid about nuclear war, and St. Ronnie had is finger on the nuclear trigger.

2. I've never liked Prince's work, except for the song they used in the library in the 1st Batman.

Well, the 1st of four from a while ago. In retrospect, he did have some talent. I was really pissed when Congress held hearings on obscenity in music and cited him using the word "masturbating" in a song. As Frank Zappa testified before them, "If it's not illegal to do it, why should it be illegal to sing about it?" This despite the fact that years earlier Billy Joel used "masturbate" in his song "Captain Jack" - oh, but wait, Billy Joel is white. I guess that covers for him.

3. Interesting thing about censorship.

Here, the US stations censor references to sex and mild vulgarities. For example, there is a new song by Pink called "One Last Kiss" One lyric is "I had a shit day". The US stations bleep the word "shit".

Canadian stations censor references to violence and tobacco. In the Foster the People song 'Pumped Up Kicks' they bleep the words gun, bullet, trigger, and cigarette.

Canadian stations do not censor sexual references or profanity.

I would argue that Canada is the more enlightened society, if we must have censorship.

On the FM stations it said "You son of a bitch" and on the AM stations it said "You son of a gun". That was my first realization that censorship existed.

On Edit: good luck finding a station that will play the "Money for Nothing" song with the line "That little faggot with the make up and the ear ring, yeah buddy, that's his own hair. That little faggot's got his own jet AIRplane. That little faggot he's a millionaire." I can't even find it on YouTube, and it's not the version on "Sultans of Swing". Censorship is real and shouldn't exist. I'm not anti-gay, but in the context those lyrics are just fine. I have little tolerance for hate speech of any sort, but it's still protected by the 1st Amendment. "I Hate Illinois Nazis." Speaking of which, Dan Akroid is going to be at a local liquor store on 21 September!!!!!!!!!! I'll go buy whatever wine he's pushing.
