I'm missing my recently lost girl, but that brings back memories of her pupphood fixation on my Dansko clogs. No matter how high the shelf I put them on, she managed to chew through six pairs--but only the right foot clog. It was truly baffling to see her total ignore the left mate, but she did. I could only guess the right one fit her mouth better.

Ahh, good memories, now (though not so much at the time)....

Which she put up with for about 5 sec before she had to go back to destroying her new toy.

Ya got to treasure them while you can--even if they've been "naughty".

I bought our cats one of those cardboard scratching post-in-a-box with catnip thingies. The package proclaimed that when cats were finished with side 1 just flip it over and there is a whole 'nother side! They don't know Odin. First he ate the box. Side one was gone in about a half hour and of course since side 2 was merely the other side of side 1... There was cardboard everywhere.

So I bought a second one a few days later, got out the video cam and waited to make the best Youtube video ever. He was not interested at all.

I would suggest sending the manufacturer of your chew toy some photographs and a letter to ask if they have any industrial strength chew toys.

And the shoes! My old dog, Zelda used to do the same thing.

Every morning I had to go on a hunt for my right shoe. It was always into some odd place: under the sofa, behind the bathroom door, in the front closet, etc. etc. It was never chewed or damaged. The nearest thing I can think of is that she just licked it or snuggled up to it.

3. My Rottweiler (now in doggie heaven) loved soft squeaky toys.

So I would pay at least $8 for a soft squeaky toy and she would destroy it in 15 minutes.

7. When Orchid gets a squeaky toy, the first thing she does is rip the squeak out of it.

I have no idea how she does it: she'll have a perfectly intact toy, except that the squeaky bit is gone.

10. Our dog had a squeaky hedgehog which she gradually eviscerated to get at the squeaker

Years have passed and many tennis balls caught and returned, and though they seem rather soft and wooly they have a markedly abrasive effect on dogs' canine teeth points. Alas, her more recent squeaky squirrel has not met the same fate, and retains its fore and aft squeakers.

my late Black Lab, Amy, totally beat!

Amy could chew through a meaty bone faster than any other dog I ever knew, but not through a nylabone!

Have you tried the power kong?

The black one, I think, is stronger than the red one. None of my dogs ever cared much for the kongs.
