So have you all made any holiday yummies yet?

We made some gingerbread men the other day, and Rhythm and I ate the last two of them earlier today. Yum! Thinking about doing a gingerbread house too, if we can get the stuff for it.

1. Earlier today I made some candy-coated pecans from a food.com recipe.

I've sampled a few & like them okay, but it doesn't have the texture I was hoping for -- like the ones you buy at the mall. The only ingredients were egg white, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, & pecans. Next time I'm going to try a recipe that uses Karo syrup & granulated sugar.

2. Sounds yummy!

I'd have probably added a little cinnamon too, though.

3. I believe I saw cinnamon used in one of the recipes.

After making the first batch, I believe cinnamon would have improved it a lot.

4. Finally, a thread about food!

It's almost lunch time.

No, I haven't made anything since Thanksgiving. But, the Pumpkin Bread is on the Calendar!

5. Next weekend my daughter and I will do our holiday baking marathon.

We usually spend 2 days baking and making candies for family, co-workers and friends. We've got a 4 yo and a couple of 3 yo boys who will be helping us decorate sugar cookies this year. It should be fun.

6. Due to potential spoilage issues,

I have to wait until the weekend before and the week of.

But, I will be making chocolate truffles and various kinds of biscotti

7. Made Tiger butter for my sisters....

Its melted white chocolate and peanut butter with melted bittersweet chocolate swirled in-like a deconstructed Reeses Cup.
