I've told this story here before. When our band split up, the drummer for my rhythm guitarist's NEXT band
was a young strikingly handsome hunk who played barefoot dressed in nothing but a pair of short cutoffs.
When I showed up at their gigs, I'd get up and sing a coupla songs with them and announce to the crowd
that I was proud to be singing with a band that had the only naked drummer in the tri-state area (New
Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware).
.
We'd ALL get a kick during the next song watching women (and a few men) oh-so nonchalantly easing
their way alongside the stage so they could get a better look behind that damned drumkit.

"Taken from a 1977 sketch shot for a Rolling Stone special.
(As seen in "The Kids Are Alright".)"

"I own nothing. All rights to Rolling Stone, The Who, CBS and affiliates."

Some of the best TV comedy comes from the 70's.

Aside from being an awesome drummer, he was just clasically British goofy.

Where Steve Martin advertises a hotel chain that welcomes rock stars who trash the place.
Keith Moon is sinking below a huge tide of bubbles.
