My favorite white is Noblio's Sauvignon Blanc. It's a nice fresh, crisp wine from New Zealand! Just picked up 2 bottles today!

(46,698 posts)Very french. Loved it!
Second best: Reds mostly, Pinot Noirs in the middlin to low range. Keep in mind we live in Florida. We drink all varieties. Red Goliath, Castle Rock, Mirasou. Weez Po. That last one was not a brand. It was a statement.
I like Pino Grigios too.

(1,013 posts)Mirasou made a cabernet that have never tasted any to top it.
But give me that delicate pink color. Light Rose'. To my great joy, discovered Franzia's Sunset Blush. Yes, Franzia. Great for sipping in the evening.
Of course being a native Californian, still Christian Brothers and Alamaden, and Mirasou.
Liframilch, sure I misspelled it, seems to go with about any meal.
A nice Sangria laden with citrus slices go great with bar be cues.

(16,245 posts)Their pinot noir especially.

(32,822 posts)Of course, that's why I was still drinking.
When you're done, you can open up the box and take out the plastic pouch. Makes a great pool toy.

(30,947 posts)I have a lot of French wines in my wine rack, but I prefer Chablis and I can only find it in the boxed wine.

Full-bodied, not overly sweet like most reislings. Despite the ridiculous name, a wonderful, multi-dimensional wine.
Arugula Latte
(50,566 posts)I also like Monkey Bay, Starborough, Oyster Bay and every other S.B. I've ever had from that region, including the Trader Joe's version, Kono.

(32,078 posts)It's Aldi's version of Two Buck Chuck, although it's actually $2.69/bottle. I've read that it's produced out of the Gallo wineries. I prefer the Cabernet Sauvignon, but they're all decent--better than some more expensive wines that I have had in the past. I am generally not a white wine fan, but, their Chardonnay is my go-to wine when when I need a white wine for some recipe. I am happy to drink the leftovers.
One of these days, I'm going to get a bottle of Gallo cab and do a comparison to see if the low-end stuff in the stores, which is 2-3 times the price, is any different than this.

(1,110 posts)At our Aldi, it's $2.69 a bottle. For any other store's inexpensive wine, I have to wait for a big sale, and buy six bottles to get that price!

(14,819 posts)In terms of what I drink most often, probably Rioja.
For white - Pouilly Fume.

(33,688 posts)France: Chateau Gloria St. Julien (Bordeaux) stands out as offering a $150-250 drinking experience for about $50. Joseph Drouhin Burgundies, especially the Vosne-Romanee.
For everyday drinking nothing but nothing beats the Rosemount Diamond Label Shiraz.
And Three Buck Chuck will do in a pinch.

(21,020 posts)but when I do, it's Manischevitz Concord Grape.
Seriously.

(17,339 posts)So here we go.
For cheap everyday stuff - Big House White in the box or Lindemans Cawarra (Sauvignon/Chard blend) or Big House Red
Sparkling - Gruet Blanc de Noir or Rosé (about $12 btl at Kreston Liquors on Concord Ave and Broom St) - If I can afford it and get fancy Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label NV.
Rosé - Calisanne, Fruit Innconu, Tavel, Magdalene from Cassis, Provence
White - Any white Rhone, Marigny Neuf Sauvignon
Red - Burgundy - it's all good..
And given time and the inclination I'd list a lot more.
It all depends on what I'm eating, and the weather and who we're with.

I'm partial to any interesting well-crafted red. I like strong flavors.
I'd probably choose beer over white wine.
