What is the weirdest thing you've ever done? I already win. I dare you to top me.

I wrote a letter of condolence to Pres. Reagan after the Challenger disaster.

Top that for weird!!

4. Weirdest?

That time I married the part time male escort?

Wait, there was that time I seriously considered being a cook at a mining camp, way too many miles of no road to the main road; only female among 9 males; but the idea of getting $300 a week. Oh yeah, would be stuck "in camp" for up to six weeks at a time. Even if the guys did salt where I was panning, had realized the only safe way to take this job was keep a pistol nearby on the woodstove as I bent over to take out a pan of biscuits.

Then my last good idea was to move to Arkansas, nephew offered to sell me half of his nine acre purchase, first thing needed was to put the electric in, and get water. NOT just weird but STUPID. But did get the water and electric in before getting taken....

But I do feel better, never voted for RayGun...thanks DU for that bright spot.

5. Politically speaking, in 1968 I requested a write-in ballot and voted for Pat Paulsen for President.

For VP I wrote in Leigh French.

12. Challenged a six-foot tall Norwegian marathon runner to a sprint contest while totally wasted.

I made it 2 1/2 steps before doing a face splat on the asphalt. He was already at the end of the block by then.

15. I supported Pat Buchanan for President in 1992

Although I had switched to Clinton-Gore by the end of the year, thus beginning my transformation to becoming a progressive.

And I supported Clarence Thomas in his confirmation proceedings against Anita Hill. And wrote a letter to Reagan telling him how much I admired him

My views on Clarence Thomas and Reagan have changed

16. I had etheric 'surgery'.

Etheric Surgery
A combination of aura balancing and psychic surgery
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Etheric+Surgery

I was in my 30s and suffered a bout of excruciating lower back pain while visiting friends.
We were in Virginia Beach and they were followers of Edgar Casey and ARE (Association for Research and Enlightenment).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Cayce

They talked me into it.
Hell, I would have tried burying a dead cat in a graveyard at midnight at that point.

I was placed on a bed in an attic room in a couple's home.
They passed hands over me and said they could see my 'aura' and were channeling a Civil War surgeon who was able to seek out and cure my bad karma, or aura, or whatever.
(I never learned which side the surgeon was on. )
After the 'procedure', I rose from the bed with no pain at all!

Naw, I'm shittin' ya.
I was still in just as much pain.
"It takes a while for it to take effect" they said.
Yeah, right.

Probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever done.

21. For about 10 years, I went to bars on Halloween dressed as a pretty realistic 7-foot penis.

.
.
.
Papier-mache and chicken-wire... with funny special effects that got better and better as the years progressed.
.
Won EVERY bar costume contest every year until I moved here to Tucson (where, for several reasons, I thought
the costume was better than it had ever been before).
.
Didn't even place. It wasn't a costume contest... it was a "bar regular" popularity contest.
.
I was so disillusioned and and disappointed that I was never a big dick again.
.
.
.
Some who have irritated me would say otherwise.
.
.
.
During those 10 years, twice I heard a middle-aged mother ask her 20-something daughter, "Why's everybody
laughing at that mushroom?".
.
.
.
And there was one woman who, no matter when or where she saw me OUT of costume after we had met on a
Halloween, would unselfconsciously bellow, "IT'S THE BIG DICK!!!!!"
.
I would humbly walk on... nodding and "Royal Family-waving" my acknowledgment to the onlookers.
.
.
.

a song I'd just learned from Sesame Street, "If I Knew You Were Coming, I'd Have Baked a Cake."

This was at Friends Meeting, by the way. (Quaker "church")

Didn't you realize that Reiki healers can send their magical healing energy over long distances? Your friend didn't need to drag you anywhere--you could have been healed right where you were!
