And in a weird way, I'm relieved that they're tranquilized before they're euthanized by lethal injection -- it is somewhat humane.

Sweet babies. Puppies. Older, dignified dogs.

What about the cats?

I salute him for what he's doing, but can hardly cope with looking. I do what I can, but the enormity of the problem is staggering. Poor babies.

And the pups are gone; at least it seems like they are put down humanely. It's so hard to think about. Sweet precious creatures. These photos, plus the news that South Korea is going to resume whaling, almost sent me over the edge today.

had a taken her to a shelter when I found her.

She was sick and already almost dead from dehydration and hunger.
Then she got hit....after I had turned around to go help her.

It took 18 months to get her well...but I won the dog lottery.
Sweetest dog ever.

I can't open the link. You are braver than I, and the photographer is brave.

it was all worth it.

That's how I'm thinking of it anyway.

But it's still almost too much to look at.

14. I agree. Someone has to do the work this man does (I sure as hell couldn't); I didn't post this

to make people feel bad - Loungers are animal lovers - but because what this man is doing is important. And I hope it does raise awareness, and help animals.

And honestly, I'd rather these sweet precious creatures be put down (I like to believe in the reincarnation of gentle souls) than be abused or starving.
