That's happened to me with this one..

And a clip to get you into it:

(6,145 posts)I've never seen this one before and it made my day. I've only watched a handful of movies twice and I'll definitely be seeing this one again.

(29,414 posts)It's truly a classic. Get the DVD (or rent it) so you can hear the commentary with Kurt Russell, Robert Zemeckis, and Bob Gale (writer.) It's easily as hilarious as the movie
"Test-drive for Toby!"

(29,414 posts)I think the "50-bucks never killed anybody" line is one of those classics akin to "I'll be back" or "Rosebud" such that film-buffs know exactly what movie and what scene when it's uttered

(5,128 posts)But the scene I like best, despite the hidden game played by Walken and Hopper, is the monologue by Gandolfini, describing how the second and third hits are easier. Cleaner. Wish I had a still to insert here. Soprano in the making.
And then there's this...
Broken_Hero
(59,305 posts)the ones that come to mind are
Fight Club, I must have watched this film at least once a day for over a year
Full Metal Jacket, I would watch this one at least once a day, sometimes watching the boot camp part only and rewinding to watch that part again.
The Matrix, never seen anything like it, enjoyed the fight sequences greatly, watched this on at least daily for close to a year. I remember the night I got it on VHS, watched it three times straight...
KT2000
(20,568 posts)the one with Clive Owen and Keira Knightly, directed by Antoine Fugua. Incredible battle scenes, idealism, and my favorite line, "What madness is this!" when Arthur sees the people abused by power.
Also Brokeback Mountain. The story is great and the scenery in the first half is amazing.

(2,675 posts)I had to have provided that film half of its box office gross when it was in theaters.

(19,360 posts)I've watched Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Blues Brothers and Animal House over a dozen times each.
I Liked Twister too. Good movie, watched it a couple of times.

(24,146 posts)it came out the summer i was 15 and the only way i was really allowed to hang out with my boyfriend was at the movies, mall, etc with other friends or at someone's house with parents present.
we saw that and mission impossible more times than i can count.
but i haven't seen either of those nearly as many times as i've seen the dark crystal. i have watched that movie multiple times a year, every year since it was released on vhs. it is my favorite i've had to much to drink/i'm really tired and just need some background movie.
i was stupidly excited when i could get it streaming on netflix.
that's where i met this little guy

(1,267 posts)Just watched it for like the fourteen-thousandth time last week. It never gets old.
Another is Independence Day -- I've seen it too many times to count, and I still lose it laughing when Will Smith starts kicking the alien and screaming "I coulda been at a bar-b-que!"

(19,736 posts)If Twister is on any channel, it is on in our living room. Same goes for Signs, Apollo 13, and anything else with Tom Hanks, but most especially Joe vs The Volcano, which was WAAAYY underrated in my opinion!

(21,020 posts)In no particular order...
Twister
Steel Magnolias
Apollo 13
Braveheart
The Song Remains the Same (Led Zep concert at MSG)
Anne of the Thousand Days

(32,922 posts)Casablanca, over and over love, loss, betrayal, honor and friendship and excellent acting to boot. The Searchers, character growth, scenery, unspoken unrequited love. Independence day, "welcome to earth!". and the chasescene through the grand canyon, too cool and very fun.

(53,339 posts)Apart from classics that bear watching again and again like Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia, To Kill a Mockingbird, 12 Angry Men, etc., those were 3 that I immediately wanted to see again after the first viewing.

(25,816 posts)It's my favorite. The story, the acting, the soundtrack.
Anything by the Coen Bros is quite good, but Oh Brother is the best.

(53,339 posts)It's not often available on TV or cable. I went down to Hollywood for the 40th anniversary showing at the Egyptian with many of the actors and others involved in the production.
For the 50th, last year, there were showings in selected theaters--and I went to one on my birthday. West Side Story, a tub of buttercorn and a coke--it was pure heaven, or Nirvana, or whatever you want to call it.
The script, the music, the acting, even the titles were brilliant!
Definitely the best Shakespeare musical--and the best musical ever--period!
