(9,465 posts)I've bought her albums on iTunes. I suspect her stuff is more popular overseas than here.

(41,692 posts)Twice actually---the first time was at the Fillmore and she wore a Cowgirl outfit during the performance.
I stood near the front of the stage surrounded by swooning Lesbians---and she just blew the lid off the joint.
Loved her ever since.

(37,648 posts)since Orbison has the main singing part in the duet. But it's an exceptional video.
But KD Lang sort of disappeared from public view. Years ago she was everywhere. Winning awards, on the Letterman show, on mag covers, new albums, interview shows. She is nowhere visible to the masses, now. I just wondered why. With her exceptional voice and persona, why wasn't she still coming out with hit after hit?
It was controversial when she came out, I know, but that shouldn't be so much an issue now (and it's not like no one guessed before!). She's a vegan, which is controversial, I guess, but is that that big of a deal? She's gained weight, but not THAT much, and her talent and stardom wasn't based on appearance, anyway.

(9,077 posts)OK, she's a lesbian, vegan & has gained some weight. I love that lady for her voice, soul & charisma. That's all that matters, the other stuff is extraneous. If you can't tell. I'm a big fan.

(1,412 posts)was interviewing her, asked why she disappeared for a while, and KD said that a very good friend of hers died, and she needed time to cope with that loss.
I noticed by her recent schedule however, that she is very busy touring and making appearances.

(9,077 posts)My favorite version from when LC was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. It's on DVD, I love it & highly recommend it. Buy it if you can find it. kd, Rufus Wainwright & many others will stand your hair on end.

(146,218 posts)I was so moved by the performance at the Olympics. Something about her standing up there so totally alone and singing this song really got to me.
Strangely, I'd never heard that song before but when I heard her sing it at the Olympics it blew me away. I don't think anyone else could ever sing it better for me. A few weeks later I bought that version on I-Tunes. Then one day it disappeared from my IPod as sometimes happens and they'd taken that version off ITunes. Fortunately, I'd made a back-up download of it though.

I agree, she's a great singer. Powerful voice, and I love that. But where are the songs?
