(5,029 posts)The Funk Brothers of Motown. They played on pretty much all of Motown's big hits with no credit.

The Beatles even did some Motown covers:
Money
You've Really Got a Hold On Me
Mr Postman
The Stones also covered Motown a few times, so the Funk Brothers could be noted as one of the most influential bands of all time.

(18,998 posts)Well it is the Beatles....only because they really started it all...they did it by writing and producing their own music and taking music out of the dead zone of corporate control.

(5,029 posts)I love all of the bands listed and at various times in their careers they could have been voted on as the world's greatest band. Hell, critics were calling the Ramones the greatest band in the world back in the punk heyday. So I can't pick a best band of all time.

(13,661 posts)better. Maybe it's just overexposure, but I change the station when I hear them come on. I do recognize the huge impact they had on music, culture, etc. But I just don't like 'em much.
