Obama CIA Nom Approves Torture?

"John Brennan, President Barack Obama's nominee to head the CIA, had detailed, contemporaneous knowledge of the use of "enhanced interrogation techniques" on captured terrorism suspects during an earlier stint as a top spy agency official, according to multiple sources familiar with official records."*

There's evidence that CIA Director nominee John Brennan had extensive knowledge of torture programs. Sure he allegedly "had reservations," but he didn't do anything about it.
Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

1. And what's the problem with that?

I'm sure he has a copy of the memo from the Department of Justice, written by John Yoo that justifies enhanced interrogation.

Those memos are a get out of jail free card according to multiple administrations.

3. the only guy headed to prison for anything to do with the torture program doesn't have

much good to say about Brennan Days after he was sentenced to 30 months in prison, John Kiriakou ó the first CIA official to be jailed for any reason relating to the torture program ó denounces President Obamaís appointment of John Brennan to head the CIA. "Iíve known John Brennan since 1990," Kiriakou says. "I worked directly for John Brennan twice. I think that he is a terrible choice to lead the CIA. I think that itís time for the CIA to move beyond the ugliness of the post-September 11th regime, and we need someone who is going to respect the Constitution and to not be bogged down by a legacy of torture."

4. Is this anyones idea of what America should be about?

Torture; seems quite contrary to the ideals I had always believed America to stand for. I could understand America standing against torture, but condoning and practicing it? Not what I would have ever expected. A total disconnect. What happened to the proud ideals we once held as a nation? Was it always just a lie?
