Papantonio: Obama Apologists Overlook Drone Killings

Mike Papantonio appears on Viewpoint with John Fugelsang (Current TV) to discuss the use of unmanned drones in war zones. Also discussed in the segment is the Presidentís decision to provide the Senate with classified information from the Department of Justice that explains the Administrationís rationale for killing American citizens abroad.

1. As long as the repukes do it then it's acceptable, isn't it?

After all, two wrongs make a right.

2. I wonder if

82% of Americans will still approve of drones when our enemies get drones.

3. I disagree with drone strikes as much as I disagree with surveys

that make generalizations based on a few hundred/thousand people surveyed out of over 300 million.

Pollsters who do that are just producing lies, damned lies, and statistics.

4. Good point, but isn't that another opportunity...

To enter the clones, who don't care if they march in unison, because it's the last employable occupation left.

5. No to drones

Obama shame on you.

Papantonio is correct - "it won't happen to me:" Those that are for drones should be aware that this is the camel's nose in the tent - be very careful what you wish for, because once you allow this - where will it end? Drones are coming to America and will be targeting Americans.

Too many in this country have given in to fear and in doing so have given away their freedom.

6. AH, WHAT A BRIGHT SHINY FUTURE WITH DRONES AT OUR SIDES

There are lots of hysterical reactions to our latest American creations, the Drones. First of all, they won't ever be used against "us", just nasty terrorists far away, most of whom aren't even citizens of the good ole USA. Yeah, occasionally a few (200+) innocent kids get "erased", but that's just the price of freedom and after all, in War you break some eggs to make the omelet, right? Secondly, even though 30,000 drones are predicted by 2030 in our own Nation, 82% of Americans like this so it must be ok, then, right? Other nations are quickly developing their own drones, even if they are not on the list of 60 governments we're sharing the "hot" technology with right now. What happens when these "enemy drones" clash with ours? Well, of course, we'll have the "latest model" and we'll therefore smash theirs. Now there will be some "growing pains" involved with domestic drones, especially those killing Americans, even when there's a "mistake", but ya know, that's just the price...oh yeah, there's also non-federal-governmental applications of our drones, such as industrial spies, paparazzi, local police catching and maybe "erasing" criminals like drug dealers or gang members. Drones will make us so safe unless we are part of "non-court justice" or of course a mistake...but ya know, there's 82% support for these protectors of freedom and why get all excited and bothered by some old dusty parchment called the Constitution...after all, we are modern Americans not distracted by "quaint" documents like the Constitution. Trust our leaders, they'd never lie to us. And for those who suspect sarcasm being evident, I'd have to agree, we need to build a future with very closely regulated drone action by anyone, perhaps the FAA could earn their pay and do their job?
