5. Check out Australia
|
Australia Bureau of Meteorology site:
http://j.mp/AusHeat More on Australian heat on Dot Earth: http://j.mp/dotausheat "It's been so hot in Australia in January (with more to come) that the government's Bureau of Meteorology added deep purple and pink to its weather charts to convey the new record highs. For the moment, while record heat is predicted to persist, the country looks to be avoiding the purple zone." |

8. K&R. We really did have some very cold winters when I was a child. Not all. But some.
|
What a change. 1923 was the year with the biggest change. The 30s were pretty miserable. That was the dust bowl. This appears to fit with my understanding of the history. How impressive and frightening.

Note: I believe in global warming because I trust scientists. But that's a scary video and I would like to know more.

11. I agree...

..is the spread one degree, three degrees or five degrees over that amount of time. Also, how does NASA incorporate satellite info before 1960's when we didn't even have a space program. Was it estimated?

128 years.
As for the range, well it must be averages and yes, probably a few degrees Celsius. |

14. Yes it is and it's only beginning.

The transformation of Planet Earth into a Planet Venus 'clone' has begun.
And the fools are mostly a billion or more (China, India, South America, the Big Oil Corporations, and the 'Developing' countries). |

19. 100 million barrels a day
|
Last edited Fri Jan 25, 2013, 02:20 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) The rise in global temperature certainly does parallel our rise in oil usage over the years to our now daily need for 100 million barrels a day.25 million of that being used by the USA alone.
Amazes me that the Global warming deniers think there is no environmental consequence to using that much fossil fuels on a daily basis or noticing how the weather has taken a dramatic shift to the warmer side.. |
