U1TV - Union Busting 101 - "Fear," Episode 1

Very interesting for anyone trying to get rights in the work place this is the guy who management hires to make sure it doesn't happen.
Unfortunately I think the book is out of print. Amazon has some in the twenty dollar range. It is well worth reading for anyone interested in the current labor battles in the midwest or in their own private fight in your work place. Feel free to link through my site it is on the right: http://laborspains.blogspot.com/

And everything he says is true. My son used to be an IBEW union steward He was a good one, too. Won 80% of his grievances against management about every year. He had the perfect temperament for the job, and studied the contract front to back. I could not have done what he did, because it truly would have driven me crazy. Mgmt was constantly doing everything they could to break the contract. Son was all "Cool-hand Luke", but meant business and they knew it. He had no fear. Thanks, geefloyd46, for posting these clips!

Hopefully they didn't undermine the union from within. That is a constant tactic with some companies who just won't except the union.

...he did it about 10 years. But he got a better offer from another company closer to his home. But it took a toll on him, as for years he would come home from work and read and study the contract and write briefs on grievances, instead of going to bed. He got very little sleep. He was very devoted and went beyond the call of duty as a Union Steward AND employee. But he liked a challenge. He doesn't do anything half-way.

... that he share it w. the troops via his email list.

Great intro for folks who are new to unions or just don't think in political terms.
