1. Last time i watched her some1 was questioning Iraq war & Bush.........

She shut that person down & cheered for the imminent invasion of Iraq.

Did she ever apologize? Fuck her & her Charter Pals.

5. He cries because he got caught; not because he is sorry.

I'll bet that singer is happy as hell that he dumped her.

When she had "the cancer."

She should do a cover of this song for her next album, and name the record for the tune:

11. Sheryl Crow.

He sure dumped her unceremoniously. I was never enamored of, or that impressed by lance armstrong. Probably because I'm not a sports nut. I'm not that impressed by somebody's ability to knock a bunch of other people down, or pummel an opponent til he (or she) is a bloody mess. With the obscene amounts of money and TV coverage that's usually involved (all misplaced, in my rather biased and jaundiced non-jock opinion) all you get is a huge push toward cheating (why? To get more money - advertising, endorsements, face-time, salaries, etc). You get cheating, you get steroids and other drug abuse and wife-beating and corner-cutting and dishonesty, you get idiolizing of cheaters and corner-cutters and sneaks who are held up as some sort of hero role models, you get high-paid jerks who throw their first wives over - who supported them and moved all over the country uprooting the family and stayed loyal and loving - because it's time to trade in the old model and get some fancy new bimbo on your arm, and/or you get cover-ups of molestation because for God's Sake you DON'T DARE impinge upon the sanctity of the fucking damn football program or some such total waste of time. TONS of schmuckery on parade - that sports and the obscene and incomprehensible adulation of sports figures makes possible, and indeed, commonplace.

Yeah, okay, Livestrong and all that. When he threw Sheryl Crow over, I decided he was most definitely a schmuck. If I recall correctly, it was just days after he dumped her that she announced she was struggling with cancer. And where was he? Oh, he called her. Wow. Cute. Put himself out for - how long? Two or three minutes? Did he rush to her side, apologize, make it up to her, and stand with her throughout her time of struggle and fear and uncertainty? No. HAH. She sure was there for him. But him return the favor and support her? No.

Louse! That's a good name for him. Louse Armstrong.

12. I always thought Louse, there, was a bullshitter. I also found his attitude to be arrogant.

I didn't like the dorky bracelets, I'd rather just write out a check to the Cancer Society, and even though I lived in Europe during part of his biking glory days, I never watched the shit and didn't get into the hype.

When he was shitty to Sheryl the singer, I thought to myself "You pompous one-balled bastard, you have a lot of nerve. She stood by you, whatsamatter you that you can't stand by her?" I got the sense he used her to reflect more glory upon himself, and then when he found that her story might be compelling and suck some of the glow away from his spotlight, he shoved her to the side.

I didn't think he was 'roiding' or 'performance enhancing' though--at least not the first few times the charges started flying around. Most of those roiders get the thick neck, their hat size triples, they develop arms the size their thighs used to be, and their skin gets thick and fatty and pimply. They don't just bulk up, they hulk up....but he still looked lean. Then, after a while, you say to yourself "Why are these French guys continually crabbing about Lance? Why do they keep suggesting he is cheating?" Hell, those guys would rather eat good food and drink nice wine and enjoy a civilized work week, not run around accusing people of cheating without evidence. So, I started to think, hmmmm, maybe where there's smoke, there's fire.

Next thing ya know, Oprah is making the little loser cry!

Actually, though, that IS Bonehead in the chair...but I suppose one bonehead is interchangeable with the other--they're all a load of jerks!!!!!!

16. I agree with you totally!

I actually didn't know he was with Sheryl Crow.
He did a Newt/John McCain on her? Scum.

I absolutely agree on the sports worship crap. Oh let me rephrase that. It's testosterone worship and that's why we're such a misogynistic and violent culture. And our fucking crap media propagates it like Casanova with HIV.

17. Oh yeah, and don't forget all the wannabe Casanovas in those Cialis and Viagra commercials.

God, you can't get through a single quarter-hour without at least one. SHEESH... what is THAT overkill saying?

7. Of Course He Was Doping

It was obvious to anyone who has done competitive cycling that Armstrong was doping. If you want a really interesting read on the subject, check out “From Lance to Landis”.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000URWYRK/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=034549962X&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=00PMB6K8XHW8C990X0QJ

What’s amazing was Armstrong’s extremely arrogant stance over the years. He didn’t try to soften his message at all. Remember his comments on the podium after his 7th win? Now that he has admitted, can we stop hearing about this guy?

Oh, and let’s hear it for Nike’s choice of spokesathletes, from Tiger to Suzy Favor-Hamilton (look it up) and now to Lance.

Glad you're here! Yeah, that arrogance thing. SO off-putting. I was never enamored of him. I find myself taking brain over brawn ANY day.

19. Welcome to DU, oldandhappy!

Happy to have you HERE!

Yep, file that in the "Cry Me a River" file. Like that photo a LOT!

His story is SUPER valuable as an example. A morality play. A lesson. Especially to our youth. To anybody who looked up to him. Look what can happen. He was a hero and a celebrity. Now he's lower than snake shit at the bottom of a coal mine.

This was probably photoshopped to parody the Lance Armstrong interview with Oprah.
