Darlene Love - (Christmas Baby) Please Come HomeI love Darlene Love. I love this song. I think it's my favorite of the Holiday Season. It's always tradition to watch her on Letterman - going back to when I was a kid and my grandma and I would watch her back in the 90s and 00s!

A guy phoned in to the show and said, "Hey, it's my birthday." So this lucky guy got to listen to Darlene Love sing Happy Birthday to him on the radio. All the Spector love songs, where Darlene Love was singing, and guys were feeling like, "What if she was singing this to me?" And this guy got to actually experience Darlene Love singing directly to him, over the radio. Of course, the blabbermouth AM idiot dj's couldn't keep from jumping in and ruining the moment, but, still, for this guy, it must've been a fantasy come true. Great show- thanks for posting it. She never fails to get to me. The saxophone elf in the Christmas globe was a stroke of genius. What a kick the band must get out of playing with her. |

Letterman says this is his favorite part of Christmas. You know - she is 71 years old - unbelievable. Jay Thomas and his story about the Lone Ranger is still funny after all these years. One of my favorite traditions too. |
