George Carlin foretold the current FISCAL CURB debateLast edited Sat Dec 22, 2012, 10:58 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
"And now they're coming for your social security!"
This debate to cut SS, Medicare/caid is ABSURD, at least as far a SS goes. SS is mutually exclusive to the national debt and has no possible way to change it what so ever! Cutting SS does not solve any of America's problems. It will just make a large amount of less fortunate even more miserable in their lives. ALL TO SERVE THE SELFISHNESS OF THE HAVE-MORES. It's not merely that they want it all, they want you to have even less! They won't be happy until we are all living lives of medieval serfs! -90% Jimmy PS - this is perhaps the 6th time I've posted this on DU. Been doing it at least the last three years. It has never been more reasonate than the current moment!

3. I wish he was still alive to see what is going on today.

But on second thought no, I loved the man to much to wish that on him...who knows, that may be the reason he checked out early, so he would not have to see what he predicted coming true..

4. He's absolutely right that they'll get it.
|
Because big business and the zillionaires who own it are absolutely relentless- Social Security, fracking, mining uranium in national parks- they just keep coming for it. They employ people whose job is to find new ways to suck the life out of the working class. They get paid six figures to attack everything you hold dear. You defend it on your own time. Relax for a minute and they've got their hooks in, and once they have ahold of it, they are never letting go. It's theirs. They'll hold onto it like it's their balls. You ain't never getting it back.

10. Boy, that hits the nail on the head, doesn't it? And the "Halliburton" sign at the top...
|
gets me furious. I'm still furious over the no-bid walk-away-with-billions-of-taxpayer-dollars Halliburton contracts for the Iraq War, where Halliburton had people walking around in Iraq doing nothing for tons of money in wages. Halliburton...Cheney's company. Is that part of our deficit? You bet it is.
No way am I going to accept passively a cut in Social Security after all that's happened in the last decade. No. No. No. No way. |
