really enjoy the simple life. Even christmas where they don't go nuts buying lots of gifts for the children.

Beautiful... and the first tears I've shed in recent days that are purely cathartic, emotional, and not sad.
Children respond to beautiful music like this--truly wonderful. As I sat down this evening, very tired, a little depressed but with a glass of Cabernet in hand, your thread was the first I saw. And, truly, it was the perfect one to open. Thank you and happy Holidays to you as well and love to all |

15. Hi Freshwest...
|
So sorry you were crying today.
I hope that when you came home...it was more tears for hope than despair. The child, that is lifted into the air at the end of the video, it was like a tribute to our children everywhere. They are our life, they are our future. They make us believe in the goodness of life. It was awesome! It was as if it were made as a tribute to the children that we have lost. I know that was made well before our recent events However it is fitting. She |

22. It's an Ad for a bank...You can tell even the audience are actors
|
Last edited Fri Dec 21, 2012, 11:32 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Nice music but the entire thing is orchestrated. Of course, the musicians are, that's a given. But a flash mob that comes together to "spontaneously" perform is done to wow an otherwise unsuspecting audience.
Here the large number of perfectly focus shots from multiple cameras and the lack of eye-to-lens shots of audience members makes it seem unauthentic. Also note the lack of anybody "scruffy" as well as the fact that the audio is too pristine to have been recorded live. It is a commandeering of the flash mob concept. A greenwashing / astroturfing in an attempt to add authenticity to the product being pushed....A bank. |

I have watched a number of the Flash Mod scenarios!
All have been perfectly choreographed by the players. They also have been perfectly Photographed. I am sure they planned to do this on their own to insure the statement they were making was heard by all. Remember the ones about Target! In many cases it would be to share, with all the beauty of the statement they were trying to make! This was done in Sabadell Placa de Sant/ Catalina...it was a Plaza! There was a Bank in the background...WOW Plazas have banks! Excellent deduction on your part that this was all about banks! I tried to show something Beautiful after a week of grief for this nation! You came here to smear that! I wished everyone Peace on this post...this is the response you give! |

30. Touchy...I said I like the music. I just like to point out when people are being played/unauthentic
|
The statement they were trying to make is "feel good (about Sabadell bank)". It is part of an ad campaign designed to do exactly what it has done to you. The ad agency is Remake and it was shot by Onidea.
I didn't say this was all about banks. I started by saying that it is nice music and it is. The only thing I came to smear was not your sentiment but rather corporate advertising and the fake authenticity of the flash mob experience being used to craft a feel good image for a bank. Nothing more. And a quick google (is your friend) search shows that I was correct. "And then there is the inescapable fact that this flashmob was staged by a Spanish banking consortium called Banco Sabadell in honor of its 130th anniversary, so it is not exactly a coincidence that the orchestra chose to gather in front of the Banc de Sabadell." http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-orchestral-flashmob-20120703,0,4931349.story I do however appreciate your sentiment behind the effort. |

I really did enjoy the video when i thought it was an actual flash mob. but even after learning from you that it is not, it was still nice. But i agree with you, it is important to know where these things originate. Thank you for that. |
