Should Police Departments Drop "Protect" From Protect and Serve?

Can police actually protect you, or are they actually only able to be there to help after a crime has alredy been committed? And if this is the case, shouldn't the word "Protect" be dropped from the Protect and Serve slogan police around the world use?

5. Wow, that was useless.

Any research on this issue should bring up the question/debate of the validity of Gonzales vs. Castle Rock, or Gonzales vs. City of Bozeman.

6. Police

Yes, we should omit the word 'Protect'.

We should replace the entire slogan.

It should be replaced with 'Harassers and Instigators'.

If their unions were being attacked, like other civil servants, maybe they would start protecting protesters and siding with the working people of this country.

I have no kind words to say about the Big Blue Club of Lies and Entrapment.
