Patriot Act allows US to spy worldwide, Europeans outraged

Information that Europeans keep stored online could be accessed by US law enforcement agencies. That's according to a report issued by one university in Amsterdam, which revealed the anti-terrorism Patriot Act gives Washington legal grounds to bypass Europe's privacy laws.

1. The NSA has always been able to spy globally under US law. The USA Patriot Act changed that to

allow mass "drift net' interception of communications internally within America between US persons without a warrant.

European law does not, and never has, prevent U.S. eavesdropping of electronic communications collections conducted by technical means across Europe or anywhere else.

2. Americans should be outraged at the Patriot Act...

..as well as NDAA.

But we say nothing.. and smile.. as the TSA crams their hand down our pants.

3. They -- including the EU -- spy on ALL of us

It's not just the US, it's all our would-be masters.

---Post it all over the Net. Permanently monkey wrench Echelon altogether. It's the patriotic thing to do.

5. K&R

''It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.'

Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!''
