Why Marijuana Is Illegal In The US

Try to look past the fact that this guy is playing Black Ops while presenting his case. It may cost him some credibility with some, but he actually has some pretty good points.

2. 'reefer madness'

hope he sees it one day. Marijuana is illegal because amerikkka has always been a backward country. And shuns reality. Marijuana is never a problem for a smoker of it unless there were problems there already. Old argument, liquor is legal. Drunk driving kills. Marijuana is illegal and people usually chill.

6. Fuck!

He reminded me of Sarah Palin when he was talking. Rambling on and on without pausing. Except he made sense and Palin has no clue.

7. Hate is used in all sorts of ways to further all sorts of agendas

When you read what Harry J. Anslinger wrote, it seems preposterous to believe that something like this could happen today, but the reality is that it happens all the time and always has. People just find new and unique ways to use hate once they are called out for it. The sad part is that things like this are extremely difficult to change once implemented and lots of haters understand this intuitively. It has to do with something Mark Twain once wrote...

It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

9. he only covers 1/2 the reality...

He's right about WRH. But the real story lies in the why WRH launched a massive campaign against Marijuana.

My understanding is it had to due exclusively with the desire to kill the industrial production of Hemp, the industrial grade version / engineered derivative of the Marijuana plant: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp).

focus here: "The world leading producer of hemp is China with smaller production in Europe, Chile and North Korea. While more hemp is exported to the United States than to any other country, the United States Government does not consistently distinguish between marijuana and the non-psychoactive Cannabis used for industrial and commercial purposes."

Hemp was the new massively popular industrial crop and was an excellent source of raw material for paper and so many other products (cloth, rope etc). Hearst owned a paper business that among other things , would be devastated if Hemp took over any significant market share from the lumber derived raw materials he was selling.

The plan was to kill Marijuana as a way to kill Hemp, and to blur the factual distinction between the two in the minds of the sheeple. The campaign was successful, and continues on a massive scale to this day.

I continue to be blown away at how few people in the US realize this. Today there are many big corporations who stand to have their businesses adversely impacted and their marketplace dominance challenged if Marijuana is decriminalized. let alone legalized. The real threat to indsutry is imo HEMP. Hemp could revolutionize our economy.
