obscenity that a new word needs to be created.

how can anybody with one atom of humanity in her/him, look at people on the streets like that and not want to help in any way possible? I am ashamed of the ones who can walk by, with not one shred of humanity in them.

The lyrics were mine, and the musical arrangement was a collaboration with my friends from The Freedom Toast (see the TFT youtube videos), and we found a Mel Tormé soundalike to sing it for us.

If you look closely, some of the images are from other countries, not that poverty is more "acceptable" just because it's somewhere else. My video guy was in a hurry, and took images that were appropriate. I decided to let it stand.

Made even more obscene by so many who have the ability to help change it by money,by laws,by compassion,by understanding. We cannot change things overnight. We cannot create jobs out of thin air. We cannot expect the poorest of the poor to be able to swing a security deposit, first month, last month rent just to get into a place when they cannot find enough change for breakfast. We cannot allow people to be arrested for sleeping in their vehicle but those who make the laws and or the rules do just that without any solutions in the bargain. We used to have many SRO's for those who had little and only needed a roof over their heads. But we tore them down for fancy condo's. Not enough profit from SRO's. We used to have a thriving market for day old breads but now they are sent back to the baker or are they tossed to the ducks? We now have laws that prevent people from passing out blankets, soup, doughnuts but allowing people to go hungry. We expect people to get a job when they can't even find a place to wash their face. We allow vets to come home to nothing. They are ignored with all their war "baggage" incapable of getting back into the jobs/careers they might have had. No help they too are in the streets, misused by the gov't,misunderstood by many.
It's video's like this that might open up a few eyes. Granted we need to open up many eyes but baby steps are better then no steps at all. You did a great video!

From "Home on the Range/Bush version" to "The Talking TSA Blues" all were intended for laughs to varying degrees.

This one was born of anger and frustration. Getting a Mel Tormé soundalike to sing it was intended for pure irony.
