TYT: Gangnam Style - O'Reilly's Racist, Confused Analysis

The mega-hit by Korean pop star Psy recently became the most-watched video in the history of Youtube. O'Reilly, however, just wasn't having it.

Cenk Uygur breaks down Bill O'Reilly and Keith Ablow's hilariously out-of-touch response to Psy's Gangnam Style and its popularity. Did you know words in languages you don't speak still have meaning??? O'Reilly does not.

Yup, I guess so. They just can't resist any chance they get.

3. They remind me of my brother

when he was about five years old.

When he heard people speak a foreign language, he'd ask why didn't they say what they mean. No one could convince him that they did.

4. O'Reilly seems to have a pattern of this.

He said this type of crap about Ludacris, years ago.

7. good work, billo---73% of Asian Americans voted for Obama

so now that you've added to helping the thugs lose the Asian vote permanently...

next time, before going to air, you might want to ask someone, oh, I don't know--maybe 50 years younger than you--about something in pop culture before going to air and exposing further your complete and abject stupidity.

8. But he didn't expose his stupidity to his audience.

The average age of his audience is somewhere around 70 and conservative. I have no doubt that 90% of his audience agreed with him.

Bill O'Reilly didn't do that segment for us, he did it for them.

16. the video has gone viral

which means more than the number of idiots who watch his show have now seen it.

I certainly didn't tune into fux noose to see that clip, which means I'm not a part of his audience.

THAT is what I'm talking about.

9. Bill O'Reilly, Super Genius.

It took all of 90 seconds for me to find a translation of the lyrics online, and maybe another minute to find articles explaining the cultural context.

Fake news doesn't know anything about being an American which equals to democracy which equals to "for all".

15. O'Reilly would have totally been one of the squares who freaked over Elvis

If O'Reilly had been on the TV back in the 50s, he would have with 100% probability been one of the Old White Guys wondering aloud if Elvis and That Rock and Roll Noise were satanic, and linked with The Dope, and Corrupting Our Youth(tm).

20. Right at the end

He is quoted as saying, "The tide goes in, the tide goes out; you can't explain it." Billo, I'm sure your 6th, 7th or 8th grade science teacher explained how the tides work. Perhaps you were absent on that day.

22. A couple of years ago

Billo the Clown had David Silverman, president of the American Atheists on his show and the following ensued:

O'REILLY: I'll tell you why religion's not a scam, in my opinion: tide goes in, tide goes out. Never a miscommunication. You can't explain that.

SILVERMAN: Tide goes in, tide goes out?

O'REILLY: See, the water, the tide comes in and it goes out, Mr. Silverman. It always comes in, and always goes out. You can't explain that.

21. In case you somehow missed it, Here's the English translation of 'gangnam style:

"Gangnam Style" is a Korean neologism that refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam district of Seoul, where people are trendy, hip and exude a certain supposed "class". Psy has described the song as a tribute to the ladies of the wealthy district.

The term was listed in Time's weekly vocabulary list as a manner associated with lavish lifestyles in Seoul's Gangnam district. Psy likened the Gangnam District to Beverly Hills, California, and said in an interview that he intended in a twisted sense of humor by claiming himself to be "Gangnam Style" when everything about the song, dance, looks, and the music video is far from being such a high class.

People who are actually from Gangnam never proclaim that they areóit's only the posers and wannabes that put on these airs and say that they are "Gangnam Style"óso this song is actually poking fun at those kinds of people who are trying so hard to be something that they're not. óPsy

The song talks about "the perfect girlfriend who knows when to be refined and when to get wild." The song's refrain "오빤 강남 스타일 (Oppan Gangnam style)" has been translated as "Big brother is Gangnam style", with Psy referring to himself; "Oppa" is a Korean expression used by females to refer to an older male friend or older brother.

Lyrics:

Oppa is Gangnam style
Gangnam style

A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist

Iím a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now letís go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that

Iím a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now letís go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
Iím a man who knows a thing or two
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
Iím a man who knows a thing or two

You know what Iím saying
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

He, Fox News, and that doctor are likely the only ones on the planet taking that video seriously.

24. If You Love TYT Them You'll love the Documentary About Them! :-D

Filmmaker, Andrew Napier has been following the story of TYT for the past three years and capturing great stories along the way including Cenk's move to and departure from MSNBC and moving to Current TV. In order to keep this documentary objective and independent, Andrew needs to raise at least 60k to pay for legal fees and various other things involving the movie. Check out http://www.indiegogo.com/madashell for more information about the TYT documentary and to contribute.

Let's get the word out about this film so we can break through the right wing noise machine!
