There's a lot under that suit, I'm not sure where he came from but to me it matters not it matters that he is here and he is here now.
You go Cenk we'll or those of us who agrees that we've lost our democracy, will get your back.

What a breath of fresh air

5. A nice one!

Cenk's a gem, alright.

It's definitely time to have these discussions. Corruption is corroding the public sphere everywhere, and is arguably THE problem that rules all other problems. If we pull together, through true democratic action, we can accomplish almost anything. Corruption cuts all that off at the knees.

Cenk's brusque style makes him a bit of a controversial figure, to some perhaps, but he beams integrity and guts -- like a more cerebral version of Jesse Ventura.

Cenk for President!

If memory serves me correctly, he was a registered Rethuglican before he saw the light. While I may agree with a lot of what he says, at times I find him absolutely annoying and if it weren't for others on his program and the fact that it is Tweety's 2nd time slot, I would probably go elsewhere like, LinkTV. Which, by the way, I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv Borgen.

21. Wendy Schultz gets all the credit for his conversion in the book "Killer Politics"

You know though, it isn't eating our own to call people on doing things in such a way that it hurts our party's chance at victory. I like The Young Turk but I don't agree with everything he says. That's just the way us DEMs are. We think for ourselves so we disagree on a lot of things.

I particularly am PROUD of people who USED to be Republicans and then after examining the facts changed their minds. AFTER all the programming they went through to be what they were and to switch to the unforgiving road of digging for the truth in the midst of tons of *ushit without a whole lot of reward except to KNOW that it's the honorable path...

OK, so Ed found a way to make money out of it too. There ARE some things we can learn from that side. He's using the right wing tools and strategies against them and that makes me quite happy.

http://www.salon.com/2011/04/14/ed_schultz_right_wing_past/

Schultz describes a first date with his future wife, Wendy — whom he met for lunch at a homeless shelter — as the event that sparked his reconsideration of politics. In his 2010 book, “Killer Politics,” Schultz claims he didn’t even know there were homeless people in Fargo:

Wendy asked me to meet her at a homeless shelter where she volunteered. It hadn’t really dawned on me that homelessness could exist in Fargo. In my mind, a homeless person was a slacker, someone who just wasn’t trying hard enough, and said these self-righteous things on the air. I didn’t know then that one in four homeless people is a Vietnam veteran.

This is why I'm sticking with MSNBC. If I want to hear Pres. Obama bashing I can tune to Fox News and Fox Biz News for that.

Plus I rarely go down to the standard def digital cable tier anyways.

34. One of the differences between us and them is we can be critical of our leaders when they deserve it

Unlike Republicans, who do nothing but make excuses and blame everybody else for problems they cause. I don't want to be a part of any party that deems any criticism of the president at all as being baseless bashing. That sounds more like a cult.

I was a major TYT watcher online before they got to Current, but around 2009 that changed. TYT is just a group of people who in my view aided and abetted the Republicans to take the House. Cenk is the leader of misinformed Progressive Whiners, the same people who stayed home in 2010.

Cenk is one of a group of democrats who will hold President Obama's feet to the fire so he doesn't capitulate to the Republicans. If we don't keep the pressure on, Obama will give in on Social Security cuts and ending Middle class mortgage deductions etc. Cenk is right- corporate cash controlls both sides of the isle in Washington.

29. Cenk walks the walk in my opinion

I have yet to see him come across as disingenuous. When he gets something wrong, he admits it; he shows enough class to be self-deprecating.

I don't always agree with him but he has yet to prove to me that he's anything but trustworthy. And he is ALWAYS amusing.

His interview with Breitbart was really something to see. Cenk can hold his own with prevaracators.

I'm a bit surprised to hear him referred to as DU's most hated liberal....that's weird.

But hey, some people don't like him? Whatever dude, you're entitled to your opinion, as am I.

49. Why is Cenk "hated by DU"? Because people don't like hearing the truth about....

... how their own party is as beholden to corporate interests and campaign financiers as their political opponents.

Basically, Cenk airs the Democrats' dirty laundry, and those "my party, right or wrong" ideologues see him as a traitor to the cause.

Some seem to believe that we must be exactly like the wingnuts and NEVER criticize any one who represents the Party.

To me that is what defines a liberal thinker. To be able to accommodate nuances of opinion and not to dismiss truth by commentators simply because they are brash.

40. I like Cenk. Been a fan of The Young Turks for many years.

I dont always agree with him but certainly admire him for his energy. The Democratic Party could use more energy like his. As far as him "bashing" Pres Obama, good grief, get a grip. In our party we debate and question most everything. Nothing is sacred. The president is doing a great job, but we shouldnt relax. We need to let him know what we want. He works for us. If we disagree with over specific issues, THAT IS WHAT BEING A GOOD DEMOCRAT IS ALL ABOUT. If we all agreed and followed like sheep, we'd be Republicans.

43. I always thought it was "honorable of him" to leave MSNBC because they wanted to

make him something he wasn't. Instead didn't they put Al Sharpton in his place?

I remember years ago when anyone posted something by Sharpton ...they were trashed up and down with "TAWANYA BRAWLEY" over and over and over again.

All of a sudden Reverend Al takes big applause in Election 2012 and everyone LOVES HIM TO DEATH!

What's with this? Either the guy was a Fraud or he's a Great Emancipator?

Hard to wrap brain around in some ways...but, we deal with it.

50. Cenk is a voice of the pragmatic progressive. No doubt some think he sold out his principles by

holding fire during the period right around the election - but personally I think he was just being pragmatic. He's not an idiot - Of course he realizes that the Democratic Party are also deeply beholden to big moneyed interest. But he was sensible enough to realize that electing a Romney and the Republicans would be far worse. Some may call that "selling out." I call it being reasonable in the light of current conditions. I respect the opinions of those who disagree. But personally I think Cenk was right to hold fire and back Obama even if it means toning things down for a very brief period of time.

51. The Young Turks Documentary

Have you guys checked out the trailer for 'Mad As Hell: Rise Of The Young Turks'? It's an independent documentary about TYT but not by them. The film maker is raising money in order to keep the film independent from corporate influence. To check out the trailer, pre-order the film and donate check out the link: http://www.indiegogo.com/madashell

We definitely need more independent progressive films out there so we can break through the right wing noise machine.

Here's are what they are offering when you donate:

"In addition to all the set perks, everyone who contributions $50
or more will receive a medium sized poster, and everyone who
contribute $100 or more will receive a ticket to the screening of the
film with Cenk and the Young Turks.

If we are able to reach $60,000, we’ll be able to afford these
vital services:

• Legal fees and clearance costs so that we can include all of the
television footage and other media.

• Basic sound mix, so that you can understand what everyone is
saying.

• Basic color pass so the film, with the many different types of
video, does not appear jarring or abrasive.

• Professional post production house services, to conform all the
media in the film to be the highest quality so that it can be
distributed on television, iTunes, and Netflix. Without this we will
not pass distributors quality check process!"

Hopefully we can help the director raise the funds needed for the film so we can get this fascinating story out there.
