1. Interesting... I think this begs a question about affordable health care being tied to employment...
why not just skip the employer and have medicare for all?

get a better deal with the insurance companies out of the picture, and for the sake of the self-employed and the unemployed.
Can't think of a good reason why employers and insurance companies have to be in the equation. Tying insurance to employment makes employment less flexible (harder to leave your job) and tying it to insurance companies makes it expensive.
