My only complaint is that this clip wasn't longer. Thank you Douglas Carpenter for sharing it.
His words are as viable today as they were back then. All I can say is this nation was dead back in 1973 when it chose Richard Nixon over this wonderful wise man. Although I have never looked, there has to be lots of clips over at YouTube of George McGovern. I'm going to see what I can find. Whenever you get down about the dilemma our country is facing, with the ugliness that is the right wing, just run over to YouTube and listen to George for a while. His words will reassure you and make you want to return to the real world and keep fighting the good fight for Justice and Peace on Earth.
Here's a salute for you, George
