[TYT] Grand Bargain = Grand Larceny, Grand Lie: How Together Obama & Republicans are Robbing You

Just the facts from a Progressive Democrat.

Yes, i know posting this can risk getting banned on DU simply for pointing out actual facts that many democrats (not all) are just as corruptably complicit as all republicans, but i am hoping the few DUers will not fall once again into the same trap of republican base voters of blindly agreeing to your party's misdeeds simply because they have a (D) next their name.

Anyway, here is TYT's Cenk Uygur (a progressive lion) presenting the facts to show you how the Grand bargain is just a way to rob the middle-class and give it to the rich. And the sad reality is it isnt just republicans who want this deal to go through but it is President Obama who agrees wholeheartedly with it. Truly disgusting.

Wake up democrats! We can't all be like republican voters and just accept the reality that our leaders are corrupt, and then twist their words to make it more palpable. Sometimes you have to call them out on it to keep them honest. Now is that time!

1. The election is over. You can go back to speaking your mind.

Nonetheless, the Our Presidents (note the capitalization and emphasis) will be all over this in 5-4-3-2-1 . . .

Or, maybe, they'll just put you on ignore.

2. You are fine

No, it is good to post.

However, the grand bargain happened when Obama was under the gun in 2011.

Times have changed. He holds the gun and there is no reason to give in to it. But, it is a democracy. If we do not make our voices heard, Obama will not have the support he needs. In 2010, liberala screwed him and he had no option but to give in to a lot.

3. you have defined profiles in cowardice perfectly - >

"If we do not make our voices heard, Obama will not have the support he needs" -

substitute obama's name with any generic leader and your statement is quite clear: leadership is doing the right thing even though politican X "will not have the support he needs"

BTW Obama had lots of options in 2010 and chose the one he wanted. Nobody is to blame for his choices but him

6. So you think our support is cowardly while your negativity is brave.

How many people voted Green? Gee that's brave to vote for a party that has no chance in Hell.

4. Good grief

We just won a huge victory. Our enemy might just be down for the count.

Do you mind if I savor that huge victory for awhile? I think I've earned that right.

5. Lee officially surrendered

that's true. But the war STILL drags on. Take a day off and lose hard-won ground.

10. Unfortunately, Cenk is absolutely correct...

However, the "Grand Bargain" of 2011 should be completely Off The Table as a result of the re-election of
President Obama, and if the Republican House doesn't like it, we should all join hands and step off "the Curb".

Then, when all tax rates have increased, propose, and dare the House Republicans of the next Congress
to reject, a tax rate decrease for the Middle and Poorer Classes.

Of course, the first order of business for the next Senate should be to revamp the filibuster rules...

13. A lot of people don't bother to vote in midterm elections (coming up next).

So midterm elections are always decided by the most enthusiastic, the base. That's why we lost the House in 2010. Our base was frustrated and disappointed. Their base was energized and on fire.

But why think about that? Why even think about the Democratic base? Let's have comity, blur the differences between the parties, hold hands and sing Kumbaya. That'll really work.

Besides. In war it is a grave and dangerous offense to fraternize with the enemy. But this isn't war. It's LUV. So let's go love the Republicans. For sure they'll love us right back. That'll really work.

Harry Truman said, "If you run a Republican against a Republican, the Republican will win every time." But what did he know?

Incidentally, Truman turned against the unions and lost a lot of seats in the house as a result.

So let's all sit around the campfire holding hands with the Republicans. That's really gonna work.

Yeah sure............

RIGHT.
