How Hot Dogs Are Made

Glosses over the torturing and butchering of the pigs, cows, and chickens.

Also glosses over how much rat feces and insects are 'added' as the animal 'trimmings' are en route to/within the seemingly clean hot dog factory.

2. I worked in a Hot Dog factory when I was in college

Everyday made you think about graduating college that much more.

The money was good for 1978 though!

6. no rat shit in vegetable or grain products, is there?

animals by definition require butchering to become meat, torture is subjective hyperbole

despite all that, the video was surprisingly NOT as gross as I would have thought

7. This may interest you...

... if you can put up with Dan Snow's over abundant enthusiasm. The sequence on sausage making is truly nauseating.

13. Thanks.

They did two other episodes which are up on youtube - Medieval London and Revolutionary Paris. Paris should be familiar to anyone who's seen Perfume: Story Of A Murderer, and the London episode makes you wonder how anyone survived living there.

11. I am a vegetarian now,

but even in my meat-eating days, I would not eat hot dogs because I knew what was in them.
