I am a member of Carpenters Local 64 (retired). I have a couple friends who worked on this house back in the 90's. They told me every room had a different theme to the point of ridiculous and that he is an arrogant a-hole, I live across the river in southern Indiana. I'm glad Peyton Manning is gone also, another arrogant personality in my opinion, they can go eat crappy pizza and count their money for all I am concerned.

Very disappointed we ordered pizza tonight and asked for seasoning packets, one of the reason we like Papa Johns. I get a call for the Overland Park, KS location we ordered from telling me they charge .50c per packet. The guy that called was very rude when I explained we ordered pizza 2 weeks ago from the same location and there was no charge.. REALLY charging .50c for a packet of seasoning may be a small thing but pizza is 90% profit & that is just pure greed & that will stop us from ordering again.. ![]() |

and sometimes they are. But one is foolish, when living in a capitalist/corporate state environment, to give up this important tool of populist power. I've been boycotting Dominoes, McDonald's, God Father's Pizza (tastes like a horse's head), and others because of their extremist political stands, and because of anti-worker policies. Same reason I recommend boycotting/withdrawing $ from Bank of America. Coors beer was boycotted over 20 years ago by LGBT groups over their political policies; now they are very supportive of many LGBT causes.
Most business people say it themselves: The customer is the boss. I take them at their word. |

,,,when I heard about his latest threat/promise yesterday. That's what they do in normal business practice these days... Cut staff and/or hours and make the ones that are left to work the job of 2 or 3 workers. The old fashioned word for it is "Slavery." That's been going on since the days of Reagan down-sizing in the 80s. What is different about now is that they are just coming right out and announcing what they are doing.. it's outright political blackmail placed right on the shoulders of the young people who work for them. This man is the earthly personification of PURE EVIL. Period. He needs to be dealt a serious dose of karma. I've been around a loooonggggg time and I can tell you that I have seen some true karma in action come to such blatantly arrogant people. Also, a little moral I learned from the writings of a great grandfather I never met: "If somebody looks down there nose at you, don't look up to them."

and pursue "profit" instead of the public good. All businesses should be state sponsored non-profits that are beholden to no-one except the federal government and be unable to ever lay anyone off for any reason. Of course, that'd be communism but still...
Seriously though, believe it or not businesses to track costs down to the penny and have to decide which is better for the business, raising costs for the consumer or laying off workers. I assume that Papa Johns doesn't currently offer health insurance to it's drivers etc? Surprising that a big company wouldn't, but of course, if they don't have to, they typically won't. But now they will, so they're laying some people off. Get used to it, you'll be hearing a lot more of it. Especially cutting hours, that's already happening. I'm not a big Papa Johns fan anyway, much prefer indie pizzarias. They probably lost more money by making this statement than if they'd just raised prices. On that note, that's really what businesses may start doing. "Attention, in order to provide health insurance to our employees, prices just went up." I think most people will probably be ok with that, especially since it'll be across the board and every small business will now be raising prices since their costs just all went up. |

I say boycott them right out of business. The money saved will not only be healthy for the locals ~ by not eating trash-like overprocessed frankenfoodstuffs ~ but could help them by tearing down the building and putting up a co-op greenhouse or garden or grocery. The last time I was a member of a co-op, they made awesome pizza with organic ingredients, far better than most pizza I've ever had, and I've been to many a great pizza house east of the Mississippi.
