Andrew Sullivan And SE Cupp Clash Over Gay Marriage, Mormonism On Real Time
https://
Bill Maher brought up all the big liberal victories in Tuesday's election on his show tonight, from states legalizing marijuana to gay marriage passing in a number of states. Andrew Sullivan celebrated the latter as the biggest night in U.S. history for gay marriage, but got heated with S.E. Cupp when he argued that the gay marriage victories were equally as significant for the progress of the United States as marijuana legalization. Cupp scolded him and said he shouldn't be equating two entirely different issues.

You never can tell with Maher's show: I expected a good one last night, and it instead devolved into a screaming match between a couple of really obnoxious people. Really disappointing....... |

18. Yep. When Cupp started talking about women "wanting stuff" from the govt, I wish someone had said,
|
"No shit! Women are the ones more likely to deal with the realities of aging parents and raising children after a divorce"

7. This was her second visit

and I hope her last.
Bill has a habit of getting obnoxious shrill ultra partisan right wing hacks and it hurts the show. Why is she arguing gay with an older gay guy. I wonder who is better informed on the subject as a whole. I can't watch the Cycle because of her also. Learn to shut up Sarah Elizabeth! |

If you decide to have a marriage ceremony as a gay person you aren't going to have a swat team bust in, shoot your dog, and haul you away to serve 20 years in prison.
This still happens to people with pot. Also, hundreds of thousands die because of the violent criminality empowered by drug prohibition. People who are in serious chronic pain or dying are also denied medicine that is more effective than any pharamaceutical. I'm all for gay rights, but that battle is nearly won. The drug prohibition battle is really just beginning to gain ground. Why people are so hyped up about the right to get government approval for love, I don't really know. I mean, sure, gay people should have the right. But the lack of it is more of an inconvenience and a tax issue then something that causes a dramatic limit on personal freedom. People aren't dying left and right and getting raped in prison because they can't get the government to sign off on their marriage. It's disgusting how little people consider the effects of drug prohibition. Making plants illegal and criminal is one of the most absurd and destructive policies in human history. Cartels are literally creating empires that are better funded then their own governments, and are as dangerous and well trained as a renegade military. This would end if we repealed drug prohibition. |

Last edited Sat Nov 10, 2012, 02:40 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3) S.E. Cupp forgets the whole purpose the United States was formed was to have a government to protect white male land owners. They were helpless under the bullying of the English Crown until they set up the kind of government that protected them. So why is the demand of American women for a government that protects them any less legitimate?
