4. Colorado voted first.

It's debatable who was called first but whatever.

Plus there are still some issues with how WA went about it. CO's approach is arguably better (more free).

18. True on 'more free'.

Pretty sure it was called earlier, but I wouldn't claim that as 'first' when it's really just a reality of geography that made the difference. We were both 'first'. And that's ok

6. Yeah, I'm in Oregon too. I hear you.

I don't know all the details, but it seems there was some
in-fighting between pro-legalization and/or Med. Marijuana
forces in Oregon, and it showed in the lackluster support
full legalization got here.

Hopefully, now, with Wash and Colo. fully legal, Obama will
call off the DEA Swat Team dogs.

9. Doubtful. The feds will still be full force.

But it will go to the SCOTUS with regards to CO or WA and the SCOTUS will be hard pressed to argue against 2-3 million people.

3. Proud

I am a 71 year old woman and I am proud to say I voted yes on marijuana in Washington state, yes on marriage equality and yes for a second term for our great President Mr. Obama.

Wake up America, we are changing for the better. We must all have our President's back for the next 4 years, when he is fighting Congress, we must call and email congress to get things passed .This is important to work with the President. That is what he asked us to do in his speech tonight.

12. like dominoes the jurisdictions will flip, when they see the benefit$ out weigh the costs.

The older talking-head starts to talk smack around the 7:00 mark,. saying dumb sht like people don't want a dispensery in their area,. bla bla,. so where does he get this info. just pulls it out of his ass? The big-pharma big-alcohol funded media have been trained to dismiss all efforts to legalize, and this old dude just can't shake the conditioning.

13. I thought that was amusing.

Particularly because Colorado Springs, of all places (the Christan Mecca of the United States) has about 50 of them and the dispensaries saved the city and the state during the peak of the recession.

14. Robert Corry, the attorney they interview here

is a Republican who works out of the Independence Institute, a teabilly think tank. He is, however, a righteous dude for representing the spleefers.

15. Thanks for the background.

There's obviously some overlap, and it's one reason why marijuana legalization won by 6 points while Obama only won by 4-5.

19. Uruguay has not 100% legalized the drug.

They've, like many countries, municipalities, cities, counties, even states, simply relaxed the penalties and turned a blind eye.

They are proposing legalizing, however, they have not done it, yet: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/sep/22/relaxation-cannabis-laws-war-on-drugs
