Obama Victory Speech November 6th, 2012

Part 1:

Part 2:

Barack Obama has won the US presidential election, defeating his Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

During his victory speech in Chicago, Obama said that "the task of perfecting our union moves forward."

"We are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation," he said. We know in our hearts that for the United States of America the best is yet to come."

Thanks, Scuba, for posting the second part below, and I have edited to add it above.

I agree with one of the comments on the youtube page:

And the world breaths a sigh of relief.

2. The President sure didn't get a very positive response when he spoke about ....

... sitting down with Romney and seeing where we can work together.

You'd almost think the audience thought that was futile.

4. Watching the Romney concession, Obama's crowd was more generous. They only applauded, belatedly,

when Mitt complimented Obama's family. They didn't care for his comment that Obama ran a good campaign.

I found it shocking to hear the President say the same about Romney, and that he'd work with Republicans. Considering that there were GOP losses in the House, they still have the majority and Lyin' Ryan will still be there, his words were well spoken.

It's hard having to be a peacemaker, but that is his role in history. They catch it from both sides, friends and enemies both, who can't see the vision.
