Thom Hartmann: More Republicans arrested for election fraud...

Brad Friedman, Founder/Publisher-The Brad Blog, join Thom Hartmann. More allegations of election fraud against the Republican Party. A voter registration supervisor contracted by the Republican Party of Virginia was arrested on Thursday for destroying voter registration applications. Thirty-one-year-old Colin Small was caught throwing away a bag of filled-out voter registration forms in a dumpster. Police say the crime appears “limited in nature” but additional charges may be filed in the future. Already, the Republican National Committee is dealing with allegations of election fraud after it hired a firm known as Strategic Allied Consulting to register voters in key swing states. That firm was found to commit widespread fraud by destroying or tampering with voter registration forms filled out by Democratic voters. At least 11 counties in Florida have discovered tampered registration forms handled by the firm.

If the votes switches from Democratic to Republican, how does it make a difference? Even if it switches the vote 10%, that's a huge difference in some states. It could swing the election to Romney.

Why are we having this conversation to begin with? Why, in a country with the technology the US possesses, do we have to put up with these easily hacked voting machines? It makes me sick to my stomach that we're becoming like a third world country when it comes to voting.

Are seeing now in NC, Ohio and other places. It was Greg Palast, who reported much of this in 2000 and 2004, who said that overwhelming turnout would be the only way for Democrats to win elections because of the machines.

Defeatism and not voting is exactly what the Koch brothers are counting on. Because they can win by turning out their Dittohead army or by discouraging the vote of Democrats. The all parties are alike is their meme, as well, which serves to depress the vote among progressives.

These stories have spurred those who really want a win to get out and vote. As Obama has said, 'Don't boo, vote.' Anyone who will do well no matter what party is in power, are so removed from what the Tea Party has done to thwart women's rights, can feel free to stay at home.

You sound as if you have given up, or are giving yourself reasons not to care. The technology did not stop Obama from winning in 2008, and it was still there in most states. More voters than ever have registered to vote, and people have died for the right to vote. Categorizing our system as third world may or may not be accurate, but even in third world countries people have won.

In some states, the elections of 2000 and 2004 caused people to get involved and go back to paper ballots, such as in the mail-in states. There is a record on paper of those votes, and although the elections were close and contested by the Bush administration in 2004, to the point he fired the AGs who would not flip the votes when there was no fraud, simply results the GOP did not want, many states with involved and informed citizenry changed things. My state did.

I'm not giving up. I'm fighting the good fight and telling people to go out and vote regardless of the repukes trying to steal another election. I'm just fed up with all the cheating and lying by the repukes. These crazy motherfuckers will go to any length to delegitimize the voting process.

They truly believe they are on a mission from God and that the ends, in their case, justify the means, any means. The Nazis in Hell must be beaming.

Combine these zealots with the low info voters, the ones with often misspelled signs saying "Keep Your Government Hands Off My Medicare", and it's why this election is competitive at all. Oh and the fact that Obama is black even though one half of his family is white.

Any doubts that these people are apart from reality is some of them calling Obama a socialist. If only.
