Papantonio: Romney Presidency Could Spark Social Upheaval

Economic indicators tell us that America is already on the brink of a complete social revolt, due in part to the mistreatment of America’s working class. As the haves take more, and the have nots are left with less and less, the environment is becoming ripe for revolt. Mike Papantonio talks about how a Mitt Romney presidency would only make things worse for American workers.

We had severe riots in LA in 1992 -- the end of the Bush I presidency.

These uprisings are always crushed, but the recur. It should not be hard to predict them because they have been so common.

And now, the government has drones so it will be very easy to crush future revolutions.

I'm very pessimistic about this. The Romneys of the world never comprehend the suffering that they cause by pushing the limits of their greed and bellicosity.

If you want to know about the many social movements and riots in the 14th century, read Barbara Tuchmann's A Distant Mirror. It's very, very long, and the history is most likely not something you heard much about in school, but it is an eye-opener about social rebellions and how we got started on the path on which we find ourselves.
