There is such an underlining demeaning tone to this. My wife was groaning for 15 minutes when she saw this. She said: "Maybe Todd Akin, Santorum, and Paul Ryan spent too much time watching these types of shorts.

3. Interesting. I only went to minute 6 but thought that for the time it was pretty good.

They never say women are incapable, just that they lack mechanical eperience, which was largely true. They advocate for time off because women often bear the brunt of home duties as well as work ones. I'll finish it later but honestly, given the prevailing ways that people thought in the 40s it wasn't bad.

not anywhere as bad as I imagined it would be. I liked the part where Joe's wife went through her routine. She'd have worked less in that shop. And lets face it, those women in the shop were making significantly less than the men were.

I also liked the way it lampooned the husband as he finally "thought of" allowing some flexibility the dual roles women hold.

There is some patronizing going on, but there are also some solid points for how to deal with various situations.

It happened about 4:15 when the guy compared his job he had mastered to his wife "making a pie."
