He said: Release your personnel records.
She said: The people who hired me said they didn't know I was part Indian.

He said: Release your personnel records so we can see if you got an advantage [read: entitlement] you didn't deserve.
[Translation: So we can see if you're an affirmative action/welfare cheat]
She said: This is my family and that's not going to change.
[Translation: There's private stuff in there and it's none of your business. (translation of the translation: If I qualified, I deserved it.)]

He said: Her refusal to release records speaks volumes.
[I'm going to attack her character and link her to Romney's tax returns.]
She said: I want to talk about the issues.
[Translation: I'm new at this and didn't expect to be bullied. (sub-text translation: I'm not asking you to release your 5th grade report card.)]

Brown comes across as a bully at first, and Warren as unprepared to answer the character attack.

And by the way, she may not be allowed legally to release her personnel records. OR doing so may jeopardize the companies that hired her. Are personnel records the property of the employee or the employer?

He starts off as a bigot (she doesn't look Indian) and a bully. She starts off flummoxed.

For some reason half my reply didn't get posted. I did "translations" of the he said/she said pieces, in which I try to explain the sub-texts of the statements. For instance, Brown's "to see if she got a place that should have gone to someone else" was an affirmative action/welfare queen slam. It was racial code; she didn't pick up on it.

And if she did check the Native American box, she should own it because she was qualified to do so. She did it because she's proud of her heritage. End of story. Brown would have to prove she was accepted or hired specifically because of that. Hard to do. Move on.

He stopped talking about college transcripts, for some reason, and focused on personnel records. It became a document vs. testimony argument.

She did not answer his charge directly, or with a counter of "show yours." My impression - he's a bully, uses the racial code words, and is politician enough to sound the bipartisan vote bell, just slightly off-key. She's a teacher and grandma and just plain folk and she can't figure out the fuss about her family and records. The simplest answer to his charge is she doesn't own the personnel records and if Brown wants to see them, go talk to the heads of the company and the lawyers.

Her best reply was, "the question's been answered. He just doesn't like the answer."

what does he expect her to look like does he expect her to be walking around with a tomahawk or have long shiny black hair in braids...if it's her skin color doesn't he know anything about genetics....sounds like Scott Brown doesn't know a thing about what he trying to be an expert about...

"obviously" not "of color"? She answered his charge well and all he can offer is his own version of "I'll make an unwarranted request for documents about a claim I really don't believe and lay the blame for any confusion and wasted interest on you." He'll be asking for a birth certificate next. Someone sabotaged him into this line of attack. Mitt Romney, I bet!

That issue is a losing one, period!

But we need to keep control of the Senate though, so I'm hoping the polls stay and Ms. Warren wins!

"papers, bitte!"

She's entitled to a little advantage if she's part native American, you douche. And she does't have to have black hair to prove it.

TO be honest Unless you have a complete family tree you don't know how many races came together to make you.

I recently had my DNA tested
turns out I am Black, White, and Asian. Now in my family we are just black no question black. We don't know where the white and Asian came from but it's there

This is a picture of my oldest son
[img][/img]

and this is me and my DH
[img][/img]

Now my son was also tested he is White, African, and Asian. He can check what ever box he wants, but if you look at him what do see? Looks don't matter
I believe Elizabeth Warren and i think believe Scott Brown is a racist Dick head who doesn't understand genetics
