Ryan Claims 'Going to Funerals' part of his Foreign Policy experience - Oh Palin!

It's scary to watch and think this sophomoric gym-rat would be a heartbeat away from the Presidency if elected to the White House. Apparently pushing a button to cast a vote in Congress amounts to extensive experience.

When questioned about his claims of having more experience in Foreign Policy than Obama, Paul Ryan defensively notes 'I Voted to send men and women to war' (for pete's sake-- ed.)

In his list of Foreign Policy experience, he includes his field trips to Iraq and Afghanistan, going to funerals, and speaking with family members of soldiers ALL as part of the reason he has more experience than Obama in Foreign Policy.

Really?

This is not a joke. This was from his appearance on Face the Nation this past Sunday. Paul Ryan is not only DANGEROUSLY UNQUALIFIED to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, his running mate Mitt Romney can't even handle a friendly trip to the UK without offending the entire country.

After watching this, I could only help but think of one thing...

... the fateful moment when Sarah Palin noted her OWN foreign policy experience by proudly proclaiming how she could see Russia from Alaska. I think someone needs to remind the GOP that if they truly loved their country, they wouldn't put such complete and utter failures up as candidates to potentially act as caretakers for the United States of America, it's Constitution, and centuries of principles.

There are no words when you see what stupidity lies in the Party of Reagan.

No words.

1. Read this - especially the bolded paragraph ...

Paul Ryan Falsely Claims that He Has More Foreign Policy Experience than Obama

-snip-

Paul Ryan claimed today that he has more foreign policy experience that President Obama had in 2008, but a look at the congressional committees that each served on tells a vastly different story.

-snip-

Paul Ryan claimed that voting for the invasion of Iraq based on the WMD gives him more foreign policy experience than Barack Obama had before he took office, but a look at the respective congressional committee assignments of Obama and Ryan tells a vastly different story.

When Barack Obama was in the Senate, he served on the Foreign Relations, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and as s chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on European Affairs. During roughly the same period in the House, Paul Ryan served on the House Committee on Budget, House Committee on Ways and Means, Subcommittee on Social Security, Joint Economic Committee, and the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures. Paul Ryan did not serve on a single foreign policy committee or subcommittee while Obama was in the Senate.

What is most troubling is that everything Paul Ryan listed as foreign policy experience is related to going to war, and that he seems to have taken the wrong lesson from those experiences. Ryan actually listed voting for a war based on a lie as a good thing. Ryan didn’t discuss diplomacy, treaties, or any international agreements that he voted on. To Paul Ryan foreign policy equals war, and this little insight into the hidden corner of his neo-con mind should give voters pause.

The fact of the matter is that based on congressional training alone, Barack Obama was more prepared to deal with foreign policy questions when he was elected in 2008 than Paul Ryan is in 2012.

3. that's some excellent detail left out of her quick intro to his experience - thanks

not to mention that it is embarrassingly and vastly different than his 'playing soldier boy' by pushing a button that sent OTHERS into harm's way.

He acted so holier-than-though when he told Nora that.

2. text cut off from end of clip

'... That matters. I take this very seriously. I've been doing this for 14 years.'

Sorry clip was trimmed that way, but wanted to clarify as it was cut short and some may wonder what he started to say at the end. The host goes on to ask a different question after that.

No doubt stunned by his stupidity.

4. He's just another glory boy who is elevated by the GOP because of his

looks and his ability to raise money.

He's not likable at all. At least Mitt looks and acts like he could have a good time but this putz, not so much.

And if he is the brains of the outfit, well he God bless him.

7. The transcript can be found here

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-3460_162-57509126/face-the-nation-transcripts-september-9-2012-obama-ryan-plouffe/?pageNum=3&tag=contentMain;contentBody

O'DONNELL: Can you explain how do you have more foreign policy experience than Senator Obama did? He was on the foreign relations committee. What is your foreign policy experience?

RYAN: I've been in congress for 14 years. He was in the senate for far, far less time that that. I voted-- you know, Norah, I voted to send men and women to war. I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan. I've met with our troops to get their perspectives. I've been to the funerals. I've talked to the widows. I've talked to the wives, the moms and dads. That's something. That matters.

I take this very seriously. I've done doing this for 14 years.

Oh the irony of saying 'I take this very seriously' and then spouting off with such nonsense about why he is the better man on foreign policy experience

his Tea Party ignorance is on full display in those words - in black and white!

20. Paul Ryan

was the GOP's dream boy. He was suppose to come in and set the record straight on the economy and deficit. Well from the beginning he was told he lied about OBAMA CARE, WOMENS RIGHT ON CONTRACEPTIVES AND MEDICARE etc. etc. He had to explain these things and lied about it. The GOP was not prepared and never caught up.

I used to read several similar exposures on Condi Rice, who's only qualification was writing a book on Russia which most other scholars in the field of study said was not very good or accurate. I doubt it's on any curriculum besides her own classes (if she hasn't retired). Padding the resume.
