Paul Ryan CRACKS JOKE As 71 Year-Old CITIZEN Is FORCED To The GroundThe first video is self-explanatory, but I have transcribed as much of it here as possible because of the poor quality of the audiovisuals. This took place last fall at one of Congressman Rep. Ryan’s “Pay to Play” town hall meetings where he was discussing cutting Senior’s Social Security, and Medicare as a means of debt reduction. As you might imagine, one senior was not pleased. Ryan: “Most of our debt in the future comes from our entitlement programs.”
Senior citizen: “Hey, (Garbled; Ryan continues to speak). I paid into that for 50 years, my unemployment and my Social Security and my Medicare, and now you’re gonna…” At this point you hear the police who are dragging him out shouting, “on the ground, on the ground”. Ryan then jokes, “I hope he’s taken his blood-pressure medication”, and the room laughs with him. The 71-year-old senior citizen was obviously unhappy about Ryan’s use of the word “entitlement” when he has paid, as all working people have, for the benefits he receives. It’s apparent that he went to the meeting to voice his opposition to that term being used; a view shared by many. Ryan has a history of being booed and hissed at Town Hall meetings. He has told folks to leave and he progressed to having them arrested. Here’s a video by Moveon.org showing three other people arrested for asking about jobs at the same gathering: None of those arrested have yet identified themselves publicly. It’s embarrassment enough that the arrests happened at all…for asking questions of their elected representative. Rep. Ryan has refused to address his constituents in the past and at this particular meeting, which was held at Klemmer’s Banquet Hall in Milwaukee, Ryan charged $15 to attend. When some who had paid their money stood up and began to question Ryan about the jobless rate and the Bush Tax cuts, they found themselves under arrest. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/08/11/paul-ryan-cracks-joke-as-71-year-old-citizen-is-forced-to-the-ground-videos/ .

What bugs me is the way the RW swine have been allowed to change the meaning of the term "entitlement." Of course, g-d d--n it, we are ENTITLED. We are entitled to that which we have paid for, and continue to pay for. it's not a g-d d--n gift. What Bush (and Obama, too, to a lesser extent) gave the "too big to fail" enterprises of financial thievery, now that's unentitlement, free money. The rich fat asses did not pay for their bail outs. They -- and their butt-kissers like Paul Ryan -- are upset when you and I get what we've paid for. They want to rob us to provide more treasure for them to steal. But, again, g-d d--n it, our entitlements are ours, they belong to us, the g-d d--n government is not giving us other people's money. The government is giving us what they g-d d--n well owe us because we've been paying for it for our working lives.
Why in hell is it so easy for bastards like Ryan to lie about this point? Why do working people -- working people who stand to lose so much of what they've paid for -- listen to Fox News millionaires deride "entitlements" -- Fox, dammit, wants it's viewers to feel ashamed to claim the benefits they've paid for and to which they are entitled. Why have we -- and the Liberal establishment in general -- allowed the Frank Luntz's of the world to change the meaning of the word "entitlements" from "pre-paid benefits" to "stolen goods given out to lazy people"? The TARP was the latter, no question, yet the thieves who sucked a trillion dollars out of our future managed to keep their multiple mansions, their fleets of fine autos and women, and walk around as "job creators" praised by each other and by a surprising number of the people whose lives they've harmed or ruined. Sorry for the rant, but some things are just so aggravating, it's either rant or burst! |

17. I second your rant! The problem (IMO)

is that the repubs are steering an empty vessel void of goods to trade with the people.
They have resorted to lying in order to ' reset ' the game goal posts. They are confidant they have access to a much greater ' megaphone ' throughout than the Dems in order to deliver their deception. So it becomes a tug between LIES/DISTORTIONS vs. TRUTH/REALITY Repubs are definitely attempting to smear the intersecting points between truth & lies so that the truth becomes the lie and the lie becomes the truth Its amazing how many times ( I have lost count ) that Mittens & Co. have been caught flipping or lying on past policy positions regardless of clear cut video evidence proving their lies/distortions, yet, they continue to promote such lies as fact regardless of whether the MSM have publicly called them out on their distortions. The end result is voter confusion and lets face it, most people won't Google and fact check these pending issues. They'll wait until its packaged, wrapped and delivered through their favorite cableTV/Radio news station, their local or major newspaper or web news sites. As for the Truth, whats left of it, ....it will arrive tainted, skewed, distorted and compromised serving only one master. We, together as a people. find ourselves arriving at this fork in the road simultaneously & confused as we gaze on the ground to find that both destination signs have fallen. |

This is what America will become if these traitors ever get "elected" . Democracy as we know it will be history. This is not an exaggeration, its already happening. Citizens arrested for asking their "Representative" a question. Shame indeed. I fear for the future.

ayn rand was a devotee of corporate fascism. ryan is a devotee of ayn rand. 1+1=3. no mistake. democracy died when Bush stole 2 elections. these guys will probably steal another. If people can get arrested for asking this fascist questions that are of concern to most of us...we are just going to be going through the motions of appearing to be a 'free' democracy. and those seniors laughing I'm not surprised. We now live in a mean vicious declining republic where it will soon be every person for themselves.

If it was every person for themselves, there'd at least be a chance that some good people might gravitate together and start up a decent, compassionate civilization. What we're descending to looks more like a well oiled plutocracy, run by the rich, for the rich, and with the chief purpose of keeping the rest of us down as low as possible. The wealthy get wealthier and control not only the means of production, but the military. The rest of us find ourselves working like serfs, periodically starved into submission, beaten into despair, and reduced to fear and suspicion to such a degree that we betray each other just for an extra crust of bread, or a safe haven out of the wind and rain.
Ah, but Refalca and her colts will eat well, train well, and live in comfort -- especially if they learn to dance. Uncle George Carlin knew whereof he spoke. |

It shows the basic problem with this Republican candidate team. They don't give a crap about the 99% and will treat working class citizens like criminals if they protest.

when he is coming from. One thing a lot of people don't realize is that we oldsters have tons of knowledge regarding politics as well as life and in which side our 'bread is buttered on'. History has proved, for the most part, that the Democratic party has consistently worked for the betterment of US citizens and this country. I believe Barack Obama is sincere in following the tenets of the Democratic party.
We simply cannot afford to let the new GOPers, who apparently have faith only in Capitalism, tear down what decent Democats have put into place for the betterment of this country. |
