Brit Hume Already Writing Romney's Obituary re: Paul Ryan

Romney's Political Obituary

I don't know if anyone caught this on FoxNews, but Brit Hume was downright done-with-this-election when he talked about Paul Ryan just after the announcement by Mitt Romney, talking about him as the 'future of the Republican Party' and 'Presumptive Next Candidate', but saying very little about it turning around the race as it stood. It seriously sounded much like an obituary on the Romney candidacy for 2012.

As far as I could tell, Brit has already written off this election, stating how the Vice Presidential picks "very seldom have a big effect on the outcome of the election at hand". He talks about the VP candidate emerging as a larger figure going forward.

If Brit is right and there will be little effect on the 'election at hand', then I'd say he realizes this game is over and that Barack Obama will be the president in 2012 for four more years.

*as noted on YouTube, this clip has 3 segments, the entire first section starting with Brit's intro, the section starting 'The Obama people are going to like this' and the section starting 'Level of Enthusiasm'

1. "Barack Obama will be the president in 2012"

That's a pretty safe bet, considering that it is already 2012, and Mr. Obama is indeed president.

2. It makes me feel better

knowing that the Republicans are hardly acting like they're in much of a celebratory mood about the Romney/Ryan ticket, which is kind of weird because, frankly, most of them treat (the late) Ayn Rand as their God(dess), Ryan like Moses, and his budget like the Ten Commandments.

I kind of figured that Ryan would be the most energizing candidate that Romney might choose- the problem (for them) is that it will energize us as well! Frankly, though, Romney didn't have a helluva lot of quality candidates to choose from.

3. I think the only reason they would be in a celebratory mood is if

they knew that Paul Ryan was actually going to REPLACE Romney, not merely join him on the ticket.

4. I wonder if their hearts leapt (momentarily)

when Romney (mis-)introduced him as the next President of the United States?

Democratic voters that will assume the Republican ticket is so weak their vote is not really necessary ,taking sort of a lazy approach and that is where we must remind our voters how critical this election is.

6. Britt sounds like he was saying this is too soon for Ryan.

Like he's some child star or something.

I guess when you look like Britt anyone under 60 looks like a kid.

7. yup, and when you combine with Mitt's handling of his foreign trip, it's too soon for either!

it's one thing to fake it till you make it -- it's an entirely different thing to break it and hope you fix it

neither one of these two has any experience on the world stage -- making the Democratic ticket look like the masters of the Globe at this point, and definitely putting the Republicans into the weak-on-defense experience category they loathe

10. "definitely putting the Republicans into the weak-on-defense experience category"

Worse than that, they are seen as wanting another war and the Ron Paul types were NOT impressed by that battleship prop with a couple of chickenhawks.

To top it off, they're behind the times. Most conservatives are distancing themselves from the whole "war" thing because Iraq was exposed as a lie and was unpopular. Then there's the notion that Obama ended the whole "War On Terrorism" when he killed bin Laden and people want out of Afghanistan and here those two are reminding everyone of Bush and "Mission Accomplished".

Neither one of them stopped for a second to think.

They're screaming that they're "Dubya Dubya II".

8. Far Right Michael Savage: "THIS IS THE END OF THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN"

Savage responds to the Ryan pick

This is the end of the Romney campaign. As good a man as he is, Ryan will be portrayed by the Marxists as another rich white male who wants to ruin the environment, destroy Medicaid and Social Security and give tax breaks to the very rich. It’s all over.

The Romney schmucks are so out of touch with reality they do not see how they are being portrayed and perceived both by the servile press and the ignorant masses. The Romney insiders detest conservatives and are trying to appease this core base with Ryan. Too little, too late.

9. Mike Murphy, Repub. Strategist: "He's the wrong choice for VP"

Often seen as a source of sane (reasonable?) thought in the spastic Republican wilderness, Mike Murphy seemed to make it very clear that Mitt Romney did not only a bad thing, but a very bad thing in choosing Paul Ryan as his VP nominee.

Paul Ryan is a star.
I hope one day I will get to vote for him for President.
But right now, in this election, he's the wrong choice for VP.

Ryan balance sheet. Minuses: Hello Obama Mediscare, hello entitlements debate. Happy base doesn’t grow vote.

Undecided swing voters on WSJ edit board now leaning Romney...

11. Romney doesn't need to actually win. He has voter suppression working for him

in several crucial states. With blackbox voting as backup.

17. LOL

This is what a teahead told me today at my job, "This election is a choice and it will be clearly spelled out for all the voters and If the majority of voters has decided that it wants to sign on to the wealth distribution policies of Obama and the Democrats that there is literally nothing that the minority can do to stop it" He further expanded that he saw this as his opportunity to warn Americans that the debt on its current trajectory will destroy the U.S. economy and all the social programs with it, so keep showing Paul Ryan throwing grandma off the cliff ...

I just laugh anymore they are simply comical in their failed beliefs....
