1. Mormon Candidate

The main reason that it won't be shown here is that it is absolute tripe.

3. And just what, in your learned opinion, makes it "absolute tripe"?

2. John Kennedy was asked if he would put the Pope's

agenda into the White House and he answered openly that he would not.
Romney needs to be asked the same question regarding his Mormon Faith.

13. Then logically you'd have to ask this of any candidate about their religion

There is a certain proportion of right-wingers who think that being President is about pushing a religious agenda into law, which in turn generally means being 'pro-life' and anti-gay. Palin certainly would have done so.

I don't think Romney would put a specifically Mormon agenda into the White House, but he might pander to Christian-Right teabagger types, and I think that's more a worry than his Mormonism.

Anyway, for the sake of the whole world, I hope he isn't elected. My main worry is not that he's a Mormon but that he's a Moron!

It didn't move me to not want to vote for Mitt, don't get me wrong I have no desire to Vote for Romney Hood, I am just saying this video is not that hard hitting imo. If you did a documentary on most religions in this country I am sure you would find some things in common.

I have to admit Mitt asking the woman to give up her baby is nuts. but I would have liked to have seen a few people who actually did give their babies to the church, that makes no sense to me.

Shunning for example is very common or as Park Romney called it "Alienation"

Lots of Churches have tons of money the Catholics, Jehovah's Witness are loaded.

All Major Religions have insane beliefs.

I don't think it's fair to attack someone's religion, it wasn't fair when they did it to Kenndy, or President Obama.

Mitt the Twit has given plenty of reasons not to vote for him, his Religion shouldn't be one of them.

And for the Record I don't believe Organized Religions are of the Lord, and I have no desire to be a part of any of them.

But Some one's faith or the lack of faith is personal. I don't think we win if we attack his faith
Let's not forget Harry Reid is also a very devout mormon

7. with respect...

I have never understood why a person's faith should be off-limits when they are running for public office. People's faith heavily influences their perceptions, the way they make decisions, and the decisions themselves.

For example, George W apparently stated that (~paraphrasing) "God told me to smite Saddam, so I smote him".

So, he (GW) did, and the US has spent billions, if not trillions, fighting that war ... and Iraq is still a basket case.

You say "all major religions have insane beliefs" ... as if that somehow absolves a believer of any of these major religions of scrutiny!

What is faith? It's a belief in something you can't prove. But if somebody believes in special powers of magic underwear, or that there is a green unicorn on the dark side of the moon, AND that person is running for public office (in this case, president), I damned well want to know!

Further, if that person believes they are going to raptured off the face of this earth and be given another planet to reign over at some indeterminate time in the future, I want to know that! Reason? They might not value this planet very much, and I resent that because I just happen to live here.

So, if you claim to believe in a G/god/s --- I want to know who/what you believe in, so I can examine the character of that (those) G/god/s to see if, 1) they are sane, 2) they are capricious, 3) if they appear to care what happens on planet earth, etc etc etc.

Bottom line is that I want somebody who is rational, logical, and doesn't immediately wet their pants and turn to an imaginary friend to seek answers to difficult questions when challenged.

Does this make sense? If so, then we ought to be asking people about their faith. If not, why?!

Exactly. It is well past the time when the word "faith" ends a conversation. Your beliefs often influence your decisions. So damn right I want to know why you believe you can baptize dead Jewish people into your religion, or why you think your god wants you to hate and or kill homosexuals, why your god cursed me because my skin has a brown pigment, cut the tips of babies dicks off, eat his flesh and drink his blood.... the list is endless..

11. the problem with this line of "Attack"

He is not a Mormon Alone, 14 million other people are as well, when you attack a person's religion you are also attacking the other believers at least that is the preception.

I believe it's important to know what a person believes that is running for office, but I don't think they should be attacked for that belief, as I said Mitt has given America plenty of reasons not to vote for him besides his religion.

We may think it's crazy but 14 million people don't, who are we to tell them they are wrong or foolish. Mitt doesn't automatically get those 14 million potential voters but if we go after his religion ie theirs.

I think it's fair to ask can you separate yourself from your religion when you are making decisions that effect all. And how envolved will the Mormon Church be in if you be come president?

If you decide after learning about the Mormon faith on your own that's not someone you would vote for fine, but I just believe a religious attack is a mistake. IT will become a contest between believers and non believers. it will get crazy
