Great exchange between Matt Damon and a few reporters sent to bash educators
Best line "Maybe you're a shitty cameraman."

1. ironic that she's holding a mic that says 'ReasonTV' - when she has none
|
I also enjoyed when the reporter states 'I'm just as educated as she is' and he replies 'but you're not'. |

3. It doesn't matter how well educated the reporter says she is, she's wrong or lying or both.
|
These Young Republics and their phony online news sites and 'TV' stations are extremely tiresome. Plus there is no way she is going to put Matt Damon on the spot regardless of her high opinion of herself. |

Libertarians, you'll recall, are bug fucking idiots.

|
along with Gary White and attributes his mom for influencing him by traveling to places like Guatemala growing up and is passing this legacy on to his daughters:

I love Damon!
He's more of a journalist than any of the bozos on CNN. |

The continuing decimation of our system of public education is both frustrating and frightening. IMHO, the corporate megalomaniacs--who've usurped our media, our politics AND our global economy--do not want an educated Hoi Polloi. They want factory fodder and service industry drones. More importantly, they do not want critical thinkers, because we can see past the proverbial man behind the curtain.
I am the teacher Matt describes: I want desperately to teach our children math (my students routinely tell me I make math fun and easy), but I cannot get a job. Why, you might ask. Well, I'll tell you: I am 56 and I have a Master's. This means my CV goes right into file 13. I won't give up my efforts to teach. One of these days, I might get lucky. But, now that I'm going into Year 5 of un- or under-employment, I'm not holding my breath. |

17. One of my otherwise left-leaning co-workers has just started ripping into teachers
|
Most propaganda doesn't seem to affect him, but I'm pretty sure that he and his wife are expecting.
So now "teachers are no damned good and what are we going to do about it, huh?!?!" I just don't know if there's any hope for our species at all. |

20. I'm a teacher and this rich architect said "I wish I were a teacher." I asked him what was stopping
|
him.
His reply: "I've got bills to pay." Everyone resents us until we offer them the job. They wouldn't even consider it for a second. |
