Classic and memorial: Gore Vidal vs William Buckley
https://
This is the well know incident between William Buckley and Gore Vidal that occurred during ABC's coverage of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. This version has slightly better sound quality and syncronization.

2. Ahhh, me. So typical of Republicans. When their lameass arguments FAIL
|
and they are losing, they threaten violence.
Republicans obviously have no intellectual or moral cred. So they resort to threats of violence. What sad morally-corrupt people. I do believe, however, that all can be rEdEEmEd. |

9. You respect Buckley for calling Vidal a queer and threatening violence?
|
Regardless of what Vidal said there was nothing respectable about Buckley's response.
