It sounds very complicated until you realize what no one has said.
Assad is a Alawite who enlisted the Shiites to help defeat the rebels who are Sunnis

Syria is a religious war. There are no good guys. Just dead people.

Yes this is a religious, tribal war. But, you know damn well if it had one of the richest oil reserves, Iraq, the corporations would have sent you children, husbands, wifes & neighbors to go get control of the oil wells. Our military isn't what it used to be it is now use to keep commerce open for the MULTI BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATIONS. They don't care what people want they care about putting $$$$$$$$$$$ in their own pockets...
