TN State 3rd House GOP candidate Timothy Hill advocates opting-out of federal highway program

Last edited Fri Jul 13, 2012, 07:58 PM - Edit history (2)

Republican Tennessee 3rd State House District candidate Timothy Hill is wanting the Tennessee General Assembly to "opt-out" of the federal highway program --- and also opt out of over $1billion in federal gasoline tax revenues currently received by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, including those originating from federal gasoline taxes paid by Tennesseans --- Hill then further advocates 18% of the remaining state gasoline tax collections to pay for the elimination of the Hall Tax on investment income (10% to reimburse local governments for their losses of Hall Tax revenue sharing and 8% for the state government to pay for the elimination of the Hall Tax on investment income).
